When you are not feeling it...

A while ago I saw a tweet from a person saying something along the lines of "I wish bloggers would stop apologizing for not posting". While I certainly do not feel like owing anyone a justification for my absense I cannot go back to simply posting as usual. There are a gazillion (nail polish) blogs out there and I believe that you have to add your own personality and honesty to it to stand out from the crowd. This is not going to be a happy post and might even be a little TMI for some...but here we go...

Unfavorites of 2015

In my last posts I have shown you my favorite main stream nail polishes, my favorite indies and the best nail care products of 2015.  But this past year did not just hold amazing nail polishes and today I want to share with you my most disappointing products. To be fair I rarely come across a really bad product. Even if the formula on a polish isn't the best you can usually make it work with a little patience. The items mentioned in this post however did nothing for me, even though I tried to make them work several times.

Best of 2015 - Nail Care Essentials

As promised I do not just have my favorite nail polishes of 2015, but also my most used nail care products. Usually I like to switch up products and constantly try new items. These products however have become staples in my nail care routine, I reach for them almost daily and keep repurchasing them over and over again. If you have a look at my 2014 nail care favorites you will see that not a lot has changed.

Best of 2015 - My favorite indie nail polishes

favorite nail polish 2015

In my last post I showed you my favorite main stream nail polishes of 2015. Today it is time for my favorite nail polishes from independent brands. Indie makers usually are small businesses, often run by just a single lady who creates the nail polishes in their homes and I like to support the whole concept behind those brands. Also I find that indie brands offer a much wider variety in colors and finishes and dare going beyond the common and "safe" color scheme of main stream brands. Thus, I bought way more indie polishes this past year than main stream nail polishes. For my favorites I have again chosen the best colors and/or outstanding formulas. I could have added many more to the list, but I narrowed it down to my top 8. Here they are in no particular order.

Best of 2015 - My Favorite Main Stream Nail Polishes

china glaze Nails inc manhattan

I thought it was a nice idea to kick off this new year with my some of my favorite products from last year. Hence, I put together a couple of posts for you including my favorite main stream brand nail polishes, favorite indie polishes and favorite nail care items.
I have picked products that I have used the most over the year, polishes that have wowed me with their formulas and/or their unique colors.
Today we start with my favorite main stream brands. I have not bought a lot of polishes from big brands. There is no OPI, no Zoya and no Essie among my favorites of 2015. To be honest now that there are so many gorgeous indie nail polish brands out there it is hard for me to find a main stream polish that knocks my socks off. I do however have a handful of colors that I liked a lot, so let's dive right in.
