BeYu 209 over Essie Velvet Voyeur

Good evening everyone!

I am back at work. Today was the first day after my three week vacation and to be honest I wasn’t really productive as I have to get used to lab work again. So I just did some office work. I couldn’t even use my computer because I recently bought a new notebook and in order to use it in the lab I need to get it registered first. Of course our network administrator is on holiday until the end of this week.

Oh and today is finally the day where Apple will show us the new or modified iPhone :D I can’t lie, I am an iPhone fan girl and can’t wait to see the new one (as mine is still a 3G).

The manicure I have for you today is a vampy dark red one with brilliant shimmer.

This one shimmers in so many different colors, I just had to add a second bottle shot :)

I started with two coats of Essie Velvet Voyeur, a dark burgundy red crème. I liked this polish solo a lot because it’s richly pigmented and has a glossy finish. To spice it up a bit I added one coat of BeYu 209, which is also entitled Brilliant Shiraz according to the company’s website. This one is a sheer pink polish with multichrome shimmer. I first stumbled across it on The Swatchaholic’s blog and immediately fell in love! Worn solo it’s too sheer and too pink for my liking but it’s great for layering! If you’re hunting down this polish be sure to get the version that says Inci 31 on the label. There is a second but dull version of 209 which has Inci 24 on the back. In the end I added a thick coat of Essence Wet Look top coat. It’s not a quick dry top coat but indeed it gives a brilliant shiny finish to the manicure!

Pictures were taken inside under artificial lighting. As Fall is coming up fast I don’t think I will be able to swatch a lot during daytime so I got two daylight lamps for the darker seasons. Now I only need a lightbox, then I’m equipped for winter.

That’s a rather short post for today but I hope the eye candy pays off for that.
Have a nice evening and thanks for reading,
Sabine
