NOTD: Owl Design Gone Bad - Wearing Cute Dots Instead

Good evening!

Time for some Fall nail art :) Well, initially I had planned to do some Owl design which I saw in a tutorial from Cutepolish on YouTube. You find her tutorial here. BUT, it turned out that I am not too skilled at free hand nail art and my owls always looked kinda weird and spooky... After the third trial I decided to rather go to bed and try again another day. So I simply added some dots to the base color. I don't want to call it Polka Dots since they're not as regular and pretty large. Still I like this more random arrangement of dots and in my eyes the colors go well together.

Well, let me first show you a picture of my Owls Gone Bad Dots Instead manicure.

I started off with one coat of P2 Perfect Nail! Hardener. Recently, my nails somehow had a lot of tears and two broke completely - at least on my right hand so I can still show you some pictures from the other one :) So I decided to try a nail hardener but I was looking for one without Formaldehyde. I will keep you updated on how this one works for me.
Then I applied two coats of Essence Color & Go You Belong to Me. This is a light turquoise with a pretty shimmer. Afterwards I added the dots with the end of a make up brush because I don't have a big dotting tool. The color is The Only Chance, also from Essence. Actually I bought this chocolate brown creme polish for nail art only as I don't like brown polishes worn solo (at least this kind of browns :) ). I finished it up with one coat of INM Out The Door.

Even without the owl I liked the result. Since owls are perfect for Fall I will surely try this manicure again :)

Have you done some Fall nail art already? Do you have a "recipe" for cute owl designs? And what is your favourite Fall nail art? Let me know please!

Thanks for reading and have a nice evening,
- Sabine
