Happy New Year & NYE mani with Butter London HRH and Kleancolor Chunky Holo Bluebell

Hello everyone

and welcome to 2012! I hope you had a great New Year's Eve and a good start into this new year! I am already back at work, could have needed a few more days off though. The good thing about 2012 is that I will finally finish work for my PhD thesis in April - if my boss lets me - so keep your fingers crossed for me please :)

Today I show you the manicure I wore for NYE. Initially I had planned to put on one of the China Glaze Eye Candy Glitter polishes but then my boyfriend wanted to pick a polish for me. And I have to say he has an excellent taste ;) He chose Butter London's HRH which is a perfect purple with blue und red shimmer. I liked the polish worn solo a lot but for the last day of the year I wanted to add something sparkly and eye-catching. I tried several glittery polishes on top and ended up using Kleancolor's Chunky Holo Bluebell which I haven't used in quite a while... almost forgot how smelly these polishes are but the result paid off for that :)

This is two coats of Butter London HRH and three thin coats of Kleancolor Chunky Holo Bluebell. As a basecoat I used P2 Fast Help Repair and finished this manicure off with INM Out The Door Topcoat.

I really don't know why this Kleancolor polish is called Chunky Holo. OK, it does have chunky round glitter but those are not holographic. Instead they're multichromes that change color depending on lighting and angle. I see turquoise, green, yellow, orange and pink. The base is a very sheer blue so it's perfect for layering. Isn't it just pretty?!

Especially indoors under artificial lighting you can nicely see a lot of pretty green :)

If you would like to see HRH worn solo just let me know and I will put up a separate post about it!
Hopefully you enjoyed this little layering experiment!

Thanks for reading,
- Sabine
