NOTD & Welcome a new brand: Zoya - Cynthia

Hi everyone!

Today I have for you one of my very first Zoya nail polishes! I have seen so many swatches of that brand but I could never find an online source that ships internationally for a reasonable price. Then I discovered Salenail who sells a lot of Zoya polishes and I finally caved and ordered seven shades from different collections (plus a couple of China Glazes and OPIs). Now that I am thinking about it I think I bought waaay to much nail polish this month *lol* Maybe you are interested in seeing my latest hauls and swaps? I got some Nerd Lacquers, Llarowe polishes, lots of Essences and so on.... Just let me know! OK, so back to the Nail Of The Day. When I told Danny from Polish Chest that I got Zoya's Cynthia along with my order she asked me to show some swatches on my blog. Ta-daaa, here they are! I hope you enjoy them.

Cynthia was released as part of the Smokes Collection for Fall 2011. Zoya itself describes it as a "Prussian Blue creme" polish but it's more a very blackened teal as there is a bit of green to it. I applied two coats of Cynthia over Orly Bonder and as a top coat I put Essence's Better Than Gel Nails Top Sealer on. I got a bit of bubbling on my ring finger but I can't tell if that is Cynthia itself or due to the combination of base coat and nail polish.

As I mentioned this was my very first Zoya and since I've heard and read a lot about this brand I was really curious how those would apply. And what can I say, Cynthia was perfection! The first coat was a bit patchy but after I applied a second coat I got complete coverage! The brush was nice and allowed easy control of the polish. It wasn't too soft, too stiff, too wide or too small - just right! Drying time was also really fast - me likey, because I'm the kind of person that's rather impatient and I bump into things with my freshly painted nails... I also liked the color! It could have been a tid bit lighter for my feeling because it is really dark and the teal is not very obvious. Nevertheless I like this shade a lot, pretty vampy Fall color!

I can't wait to try the other Zoya polishes I got :)
Thanks for reading and have a great day,
- Sabine
