Essence Crazy Good Times - Colourbration Swatches & Review

Thursday, February 16, 2012

Hi everyone!

Working part of this week is almost over and I am really looking forward to the upcoming weekend because it's been a crazy week in the lab. For the first time in a month I am going to visit my parents again and I still need to organize a present for my dad as it is his birthday next Saturday! If only it wasn't so hard to get him something.

OK, I guess you're here for the polish and this is what you get ;) Today I have for you the very last nail polish from the Essence Crazy Good Times Trend Edition - as this company calls their limited editions. It is Colourbration which this is my absolute favorite from this collection and I'll show you why.

Colourbration is an acid green with tons of golden glass flecks. Yes, a glass-flecked polish! I can't think of another Essence polish with that sort of finish and I was so curious how this might look on the nails. I did three thin coats without base or top coat for those pictures. I apologize in advance for the upcoming picture spam ;)

Formulation of this one was good as I had no problems applying it. Drying time wasn't super fast but still ok. The surface was almost completely smooth and really shiny - which is also due to the glass flecks in the polish. These particles are shiny and sparkle in a nice yellow-ish gold when the light hits them. For sure this isn't a color to wear for each occasion but I would absolutly wear it not only for carnival. This "in your face" green really stands out from the crowd and I don't own another polish like this in my stash! So Colourbration is right up my alley!

The Essence Crazy Good Times Trend Edition is available in most German drugstores during February and 8ml retail for 1,79€.

Speaking of Carnival: Celebrations started today - also in my hometown but I am so not into it... Are you going to dress up and celebrate? Or isn't there anything like Carnival where you are? I hope you're enjoying your day either way!

Thanks for reading and until next time,
- Sabine
