Here I am, back from my trip to the States! Can't believe how quickly time passed by and I was a bit sad when I had to leave because I really had a good time over there. The first 4 days I stayed at the Cold Spring Harbor Laboratories on Long Island. It is an incredibly nice place, I can already see myself working there after my PhD studies, haha. It is the first university I know that has its own beach and fitness room. The weather was great, warm and sunny but unfortunately I spent most of my time in the auditorium as I was there for a scientific meeting. Yet I had lots of fun.
Afterwards I went to New York City and what can I say? I am really impressed, I haven't seen anything like this before! Such a huge, loud and busy city but people there were friendly and nice. I had a blast going sightseeing and shopping over there. On my way from Long Island to NYC I stopped by at Ulta in Queens where I did the most damage to my wallet.... Oh wait, that was actually at the Apple Store in Midtown but that is a whole different story. So here I put together some shots of what I got at Ulta, Rite Aid, CVS, Walgreens and Ricky's. Prepare for some more bottle spam after the jump!
Aside from nail polish I also got some other beauty stuff. Initially I had planned on getting the Urban Decay Naked Palette but I didn't know that one was $50 so I only got a little Wet 'n Wild Coloricon palette that I liked - and which was only $5,49 ;)
At Ulta they had a Buy 2 Get 1 Free offer on Revlon Lipbutters which I wanted to try. They are great, not as color intense as a lipstick but yet they leave a nice tint on the lips.
At Walgreens I got the Sally Hansen Cuticle Eraser & Balm which I wanted to try after I had seen it on a blog. I like this product a lot! To moisturize my dry nails I got a strengthening gel which I am currently testing.
Finally I got me some Burt's Bees products :D
This is all the beauty stuff I got. Well, actually I got a fresh bottle of INM Out The Door which I forgot to photograph. I could have gotten way more stuff because all those drugstores were like heaven. I want an Ulta here now, lol. But on the second day we went to the Apple Store at Fifth Avenue and I bought a new iPad so from that day on I had to take care of my wallet a bit. Sephora was also quite tempting but I needed to resist the urge to buy tons of beauty products, otherwise my boyfriend would have gone wild ;)
Unfortunately I could not arrange a meeting with some bloggers from the area as we had initially planned. But I will surely come back one day and then we can meet up ;)
I hope you enjoyed this picture spam post. If you're interested in seeing pics from NYC or more of those bottle spam posts, let me know!
Have a great Monday.
