Happy Halloween! I'm celebrating with a Magical Forest on my nails

Happy Halloween my fellow readers!

It is finally here, this one day of the year where everyone dresses up, creates spooky pumpkin faces and enjoys trick or treating (or just attending a nice party). It is All Hallow's Eve! Are you having any plans for tonight? Halloween is not a big deal here, but I just love all the stuff related to it: creepy decorations and food, candy, costumes... So during all of October I've been posting Halloween themed manicures and for today, I wanted to do something different. So while browsing the internet I stumbled upon a YouTube channel called ProfessionalDQ and I was immediately drawn to it because her description reads "Insanely mental nail art", which sounded quite promising ;) So I watched several of her tutorials and could not take the eyes off of her Scary Fairy design. This mixture of sponging, free-hand and newspaper nail art is right up my alley and I thought this would make a pretty unique Halloween design. So I pulled out my polishes, sponges, stripers, tweezers and acrylic paints and made my own Scary Fairy nails for Halloween. For more info read on after the jump. But be warned, this is a picture heavy post, muahahahaha *evil laugh*

The base color I used is Essence - Jacob's Protection from their recent Breaking Dawn Part 2 Limited Edtion (which is definitely worth checking out!). The shimmery blue I sponged on top of this is Alessandro - Blue Marine from the Track Me LE. To draw the grass, trees, birds and eyes I used black and white acrylic paint from a craft store. The blue-ish glitter on the tips is Catrice - Return Of Space Cowboys. In the end this looked more like a creepy forest to me, but still I really like how this came out. I am not overly skilled when it comes to nail art (especially free-hand nail art), but this wasn't too hard to do. What I love about acrylic paints is that you can easily wipe them away if you make a mistake without destroying the base polish.

I hope you enjoy this manicure just as much as I do! I am seriously obsessed with this design and I do not want to take it off so soon...
Happy Trick Or Treatin', have a fabulous Halloween!
