today I have for you a little layering for my Spooktober series. Actually this polish has been sitting in my stash for a while and Halloween is the perfect occasion to pull this out. It is Jake And The Leprechaun by an indie nail polish brand called The Spooky Bones Company. As their name suggests, they make polishes inspired by horror movies, the supernatural, books etc. When I read the names of their polishes I was immediately drawn to them and when I saw the unique types of glitter they used for their creations, I caved and ordered some. Let's have a look.
Jake And The Leprechaun is a sheer green tinted base. Dispersed in there is silver microshimmer, tiny silver holographic shimmer and blue, green and orange opalescent glitter. There is also shredded silver glitter and silver holographic stars. Because the base is so sheer, I decided to layer it over a matching green creme. This one is OPI Green-wich Village. I haven't used this one in ages and had completely forgotten how thin and runny this is. I like the shade of green though. Over this I added two coats of Jake And The Leprechaun. I had to fish for the larger shards of silver and the holographic stars. Apart from that, the polish was easy to work with and the result was smooth and super sparkly.
If you want to see more of The Spooky Bones Company nail polish creations, head over to their Etsy store! I got Jake And The Leprechaun in a set together with Dead Man's Float. While I am writing this post these two polishes are not listed in their shop, so I am not sure if it is still available. Their other creations are worth checking out though ;)
Thanks for looking, have a nice evening,
