and happy Sunday! I hope all of you had a nice Halloween. Since it is not a big thing here, I ended up watching DVD and reading blog posts ;)
The polish I want to share with you today is one of my favorite Essence polishes. It came out with their most recent Trend Edition which is inspired by the second movie of Breaking Dawn from the Twilight series. Honestly, I am not a fan of Twilight, neither the books nor the movies (if I had to choose I'd prefer the books though), but the promo photos of the products looked interesting so I had to check them out. It turned out that the polishes of this limited edition are the best Essence has released this year, at least in my opinion. OK, I skipped two of the polishes, namely A Piece Of Forever, which is a warm gold (and golds usually look horrible on me) and Edward's Love, a black with silver glitter (not the most unique color. I am sure the creator of these polishes is on Team Jacob since his nail polish is so much prettier, lol). The remaining two polishes however are really stunning! Today I show you the blue, which is called Jacob's Protection.
The first and the last photo were taken under my OCC lamp, where you can see that Jacob's Protection is a near-black base polish that is loaded with mainly blue glass flecks. Yes, glass flecks! Aren't they pretty? In the diffuse light of the lightbox you can see them in more detail. There are also green and a few sparse red flecks in the base. I am not sure, but sometimes I think the blue flecks shift to purple, but maybe that is just my imagination. At least in the bottle there is a slight duochrome effect.
Sadly this polish wasn't the easiest to work with. First, because the formulation was on the thick side and second, my brush was cut at an odd angle, which made precise application a bit tricky. But maybe that is just my bottle, because of friend's brush was ok. Next time I wear this I will add some thinner and see if it helps.
I cannot wait to wear the other Twilight polish I picked up, which is Alice Had A Vision...Again. Basically this is the same polish, just in a purple tone. I hope I will be able to show this to you, soon!
My final verdict?! You don't have to be a Twilight fan to love these polishes! Honestly, apart from the names, I cannot see how these colors and/or finishes are related to the Twilight characters, but who cares as long as the polish is pretty ;) If you want to get your own bottle of Jacob's Protection, it's up for grabs at most German drugstores now.
Thanks for reading gals, have a relaxing Sunday!
