Floam Day is here!

Hi there!

Just recently I did a manicure using the awesome Floam by Nailventurous (see here). Shortly after posting this manicure I was told some girls were planning to gather and publish all their Floam manicures on one particular day - Floam Day was born! I simply had to participate as this was the perfect opportunity to wear this beauty again - and I hardly ever wear the same polish twice in a week! Floam with its matte neon glitter looks great over other neon polishes. However I did not want to just layer it over a plain neon again. So why not make a Floam-covered neon gradient? Gradient nails are my favorite nail art trend at the moment so I could get two manicures in one ;)

Essence Fruity - One Kiwi A Day (04)

Happy Sunday my dear reader!

I hope everyone is enjoying their long three day weekend! I am. The weather has been really nice those last couple of days which automatically makes me feel good.
Speaking of feeling good, the nail polish I have for you today probably won't keep the doctor away but I already love it for its name. It is called One Kiwi A Day (No. 04) from Essence's recent Fruity Limited Edition. I already showed you Mashed Berries from the same collection (according so some reactions from readers it might as well be Very Cherry... If you have any clue which is which let me know :) ). One Kiwi A Day is a nice pastel green with small green round glitter and golden shimmer in it.

Pink Wednesday: Essence Fruity - Mashed Berries

Happy Wednesday everyone!

This is my very first Pink Wednesday post because pink polishes are a clear minority in my stash. Just recently it happened that I picked up some pink-ish polishes because I feel it's a perfect shade for summer. To my own surprise I really liked the color on me, especially the bright hot pinks ;)
The polish I have for you today is neither hot nor bright but still very pretty. A couple of weeks ago Essence came out with a fruit-inspired Spring limited edition called - what a surprise - Fruity. I chose two of the polishes and this one is Mashed Berries. At least I think it is because the bottles do not have names on it so I had to compare the bottle to the promo pics. There is a similar polish in that LE called Very Cherry but this is more orange-coral to me. Anyway, here is my contribution for today's Pink Wednesday.

Catrice - Be Pool

Good evening!

Since my nails are steady but only slowly growing back to my comfort length I have for you today a manicure I did a while back. Say 'hi' to Be Pool which was released as part of Catrice's Nymphelia limited edition for Spring 2012. This one was the only polish I purchased from that collection because all other colors are part of Catrice's standard range. Be Pool is a pretty darkened teal with matching shimmer.

A Blinding NOTD: I'm Feeling Nailventurous - Floam

Happy Father's Day *!

* EDIT: I seem to have confused a few of you. May 17th 2012 is Father's Day here in Germany. So if you're residing in the US you have NOT forgotten about your Dads ;)

Today I have another Nail Of The Day for you. It is the one and only Floam by (I'm Feeling) Nailventurous and you have probably heard of it before because so many nail polish enthusiats are trying to get their hands on it lately. This time the "hype" is well deserved because it really is an awesome and unique polish. I haven't seen anything like this before and it made my eyeballs pop the first time I saw swatches of it. So it has been on my wishlist for a long time because it was sold out most of the time and whenever it was back in stock I missed it. During the last round of re-stocking at NinjaPolish I was lucky enough to get a bottle. When it arrived yesterday I needed to put it on ASAP and I la-la-love it sooo much! I will show you why ;)

Chevron Tape Manicure using Essie - Olé Caliente & Claire's - Galaxy

Hi and happy Wednesday!

In my last post I showed you one of my favorite Spring nail polishes this year, Olé Caliente by Essie. Sadly after one day already the manicure had several chips and visible tip wear. I remembered seeing a tutorial for a tape mani by Danny from PolishChest and thought this would be the perfect way to "recycle" this bright coral manicure ;) You can find her tutorial here. I chose Claire's Galaxy, a black with small silver glitter in it to go with Olé Caliente. I just love red and black together! And this is what it looked like after the first round of taping.

Springtime favorite: Essie - Olé Caliente

Happy Sunday

and happy Mother's Day to all the Moms out there! Get spoiled and enjoy your day!

Today I have for you another favorite nail polish for Spring. This is Olé Caliente from Essie's Navigate Her collection for Spring 2012. When I first saw it I only picked up the pistachio green Navigate Her but after seeing several swatches of Olé Caliente I knew I needed this in my life. It is such a bright and fun coral red creme with pink undertones.

Dollish Polish - Fat Guy In A Little Coat

Hi there,

I am back with another beloved indie polish brand of mine. Today's lacquer is from Dollish Polish and it is entitled Fat Guy In A Little Coat. When I first read the name I thought why would someone call a nail polish like that?! Then I learned that it was inspired by a scene in the movie Tommy Boy where the main character puts on a waaay too small coat and does a little dance to tease his friend. To be honest, I have never seen that movie myself and for all of you who do not know it, here is the movie scene Fat Guy In A Little Coat refers to. To see the polish inspired by that movie, read on after the jump.

Catrice - ACid/DC (810)

Good evening!

How are you doing? I hope everyone had a great weekend! Mine passed much to quick as usual. I didn't even find the time to paint my nails so they have been naked for about 4 days now. But maybe this isn't too bad after all because that way I can pamper them a bit and hopefully get rid of some cracks. I don't know why but my right thumb nail always cracks at exactly the same spot. So right now I am trying the Sally Hansen VitaSurge Strength Gel and see if it helps with the cracks. By the way, would you guys be interested in reviews on products I use for nail and hand care?

On to the polish! The weather here has been really depressing lately - cloudy, rainy and cold, not very Spring-like. So I went with something bright and fun on my nails instead. ACid/CD (810) became part of Catrice's standard range this year and it is a vibrant acid green with a subtle shimmer.

Springtime favorite: Catrice - Sold Out Forever

Happy Friday!

Today I have for you one of my favorite nail colors for Spring! It is Catrice Sold Out Forever, which is a mint green with a decent green shimmer. It got quite popular among nail polish fans because this one is a great dupe for the high-end polish Chanel Jade. Let's have a look.

Gradient Manicure: Tequila Sunrise On My Nails

Happy humpday peeps!

I hope you all had a great week so far! Yesterday was a public holiday here in Germany so I took the time to experiment a bit with nail polish. I see lots of pretty gradient manicures everywhere and since I really like this nail art trend I decided to go with the flow and try one myself. I opted for something summery so I picked OPI Need Sunglasses? and A Roll In The Hague. With a little help from Sammy's tutorial this design was really easy to achieve. Prior to painting my nails I had to shorten them a bit because I broke two nails on my right hand while I was overseas and I wanted all of my nails to be the same lenth. So here is what my gradient or Ombré design looks like on my new nubbins:
