I hope all of you had a great time celebrating New Year's Eve, whether you've been out partying or just spend a calm evening with loved ones. I did the latter. We made pizza at a friend's, played games and watched the fireworks at midnight (yes, I am getting old, lol). We had a really good time, and honestly I do not need a huge party on New Year's Eve (although I would LOVE to spend it at Times Square once ;) ). So I hope everyone had a great start into the year 2013, may it be a good one!
I didn't get around to show you what I wore on NYE, so that is what I am showing you today. Initially I had planned to do some firework nail art, but I simply didn't have enough time to do it. So I went through my stash and chose Champagne Kisses from China Glaze. It is part of this year's Holiday Joy collection and this polish just screams Christmas to me.
Champagne Kisses is super fine rose-gold/champagne colored glitter with some holographic glitter particles thrown in. The pictures don't do this polish justice, it is so much sparklier in real life! I did two coats to cover my nails completely, but it is a bit thin at the tips. Also, this one is hungry for topcoat! I applied two coats of a-England's The Shield and it still wasn't 100% smooth, but I could live with that. Sadly, it chipped after not even 24 hours of wear. I don't want to blame the polish, as it might be due to the base coat I used (which was Nail Magic). So next time I'll wear this over another base and see how it behaves. All in all, Champagne Kisses is the perfect polish for any kind of festivity, as it is a rather decent, yet fancy sparkly color.
What was on your nails on New Year's Eve? Let me know!
Thanks for stopping by.
