I hope everyone had a great weekend! I did, I went to several parties this weekend. One was the PhD ceremony of a friend and the other one was another friend's belated birthday party. So even though it was a busy weekend, it was so much fun. For the birthday party, I wanted to wear a nail polish that would match my outfit and the season. So I digged out OPI Road House Blues from their Touring America Fall 2011 collection. Actually I have to thank my boyfriend for this polish, as I got it because of him. When we go shopping from time to time, he browses the nail racks at a local perfumery and suggests polishes to me that he likes a lot. So last time we went there he came across Road House Blues and went "Oh this is pretty, you need this in your stash!" (he is a sucker for everything dark, so his choice wasn't really a surprise to me, haha). I feel like these plain creme polishes are often overlooked, but this one really is worth a second look! Shall we?!
I used two coats of Road House Blues over Nail Magic as a base and topped it off with a coat of OPI RapiDry topcoat (one of the few fast drying topcoats that does not shrink on me). I loved the formula of this polish. It went on flawlessly, even though a few bristles of my brush were a bit wonky. It also dried pretty shiny on its own and wore well - after three days I only got minimal tipwear, but no chips or cracks.
The color is a deep rich navy blue. It probably isn't the most unique color in the world, but I don't have anything close to this in my collection.
As much as I like dark colors like this, I cannot wait to pull out the brights for Spring again :) I am definitely in the mood for warmer temperatures and some sunshine!
Thanks for reading, hope to see you again soon!
