Back in my 500 follower giveaway I asked you to tell me what you would like to see on my blog in the future. It seems like a lot of people like hauls, so I decided to introduce a new series on My Polish Stash, the "What's New In My Stash" post. At the end of each month, I will share with you the nail polishes and beauty items I purchased during the month. So during April I bought quite a lot of products, mainly from money and gift certificates I got for my birthday. So without any further ado, let's dive right into it :)

it's been a week since my last post and I am so happy I can finally get back to blogging today. Last week has been super busy, hence the lack of posts. I went to a scientific meeting on Thursday and Friday where everyone had to give a talk about the project they're working on. Preparing this talk took up most of my free time, because I wanted it to be good and not disappoint my professor. I have been working on this project for four years now and gave talks about it numerous times, but still I am nervous when I have to speak in front of a large audience (especially when there are mostly PIs watching you). In the end I think it went quite well and even my professor went up to me and said I did fine. Yay! It was exhausting though, as those two days consisted of lunch, talks, coffee break, talks, dinner, talks, breakfast, talks, lunch, more talks. So yesterday I needed some time to relax and today I finally pulled out my laptop and edited some photos. But enough with the rambling, on to the polish!
Today I want to share with you Orly's Elation Generation. It feels like I haven't worn and posted an Orly polish in forever. That's a shame, because I love their polishes. Elation Generation from the Hope And Freedom collection for Spring 2013 is a hot pink jelly polish with holographic glitter in it and it's a stunner!

Happy Monday everyone!
Monday mornings are definitely the hardest to get up for me. I was running late today (well, does not only happen on Mondays, whoops) and did not have time for proper breakfast. I don't like leaving the house without any kind of breakfast either, so I like to go with something that is super easy to make. I thought I'd share with you my favorite "super fast" breakfast, which is a Banana-Peanut Butter Shake. I love Bananas, I la-la-love peanut butter (anybody with me?) and both together are just fabulous! I admit it sounds a bit weird and I was sceptical about this combo in the beginning, too. If you want to give it a try nonetheless, read on for directions after the jump.

Happy Friday everyone!
Are you excited for the weekend, yet? Any plans? I probably should be preparing a talk due next Thursday, but I am going to meet some friends instead. The talk will have to wait until Sunday...
Before the weekend, I want to show you my picks from the current Essence Trend Edition called Floral Grunge. This limited edition is supposed to be a mixture of female elements and grungy accents. The colors on the display seemed pretty random to me, but still I picked up two of the nail polishes. I chose 03 Grunge Me Tender, a shimmery mint green, and 02 Lily Bloom, a white with shimmer.
Let us start with Grunge Me Tender, shall we?

I hope everyone is fine! Sadly, work is keeping me super busy these days. I always thought it would get less stressful after completing my PhD, but seems like it's not. So while my boyfriend is preparing dinner, I just want to quickly share with you my NOTD. I am currently rockin' Die Another Day from the OPI Skyfall 007 collection. I fell in love with this gorgeous orangey red the moment I saw swatches on Lucy's Stash.

I hope your weekend is going great so far. I went to my mother in law's 60th birthday party yesterday, which gladly wasn't as stressful as I thought it would be. Still it was a busy day, but I had lots of fun and loads of food. Today is a "stay in my PJs" kinda Sunday for me, but I quickly wanted to show you what I wore on my nails for the party.
I pulled out I Don't Give A Rotterdam! from the OPI Holland collection for Spring 2012. This is my favorite Spring collection ever and I fell in love with it the moment I saw Fashion Polish's swatches. Even though this Spring I am totally hooked on the brights/neon color trend, I thought a subdued color would be more appropriate for the occasion, since the restaurant we went to was rather up-market and elegant.

Good evening everyone!
It is already late and I probably should be going to bed soon, because it's been a hectic and busy day, but I want to get this post up for you as soon as possible, so I'll stay up late today ;) I could have typed this post earlier this evening if a good friend hadn't called me and and if we hadn't talked for one and a half hours. Sometimes I just need a long chat with a close friend.
Today I want to show you the nail polishes from the current Catrice Limited Edition called Candy Shock. When I saw the promo pics, I wasn't overly excited by this collection. The polishes are pretty much your standard pastel colors and not very unique. While running errands at my drugstore last weekend I stumbled upon an almost complete display of the Candy Shock LE. I ended up taking all 4 polishes home with me, because I wanted to add more pastels to my stash for Spring and Summer. Believe it or not, but I have close to 600 polishes but hardly any pastel colors. Bummer! So if you want to see every shade in more detail and get my opinion on them, read on after the jump!

Happy Tuesday everyone!
You probably expected a new Polish Days manicure on my blog today and I am sorry for disappointing you. The last couple of days and weekends were pretty busy and I simply didn't get around to doing a "Seven Deadly Sins" themed manicure. In fact my nails have been naked for a couple of days now. The last polish I wore was The Age Of Aquarius by Pretty & Polished and I want to share this beauty with you today. But be assured, that I will participate in next month's Polish Days event again!

Good evening lovelies,
in my last post I showed you my very first attempt in watercolor nails. Since I wasn't 100% happy with the result, but quite liked the effect this technique gave, I decided to try it once again. This time, I chose to follow the tutorial by MissJenFabulous. You do not need acetone and a brush, just a simple freezer bag or sandwich bag and your polishes. To make this a bright and Spring/Summer appropriate manicure, I pulled out some of my China Glaze Summer Neons and started "marbling" my nails.

I hope all of you had a great time celebrating Easter this weekend. If you did not celebrate, I hope you had a great time with lots of chocolate and colorful eggs nonetheless. I spent most of the weekend with my parents, as it was my birthday last Friday and they came over for tea and dinner and a little shopping trip.
I really had a great time, but I also love to have at least one day of the weekend that I can dedicate to my nails. So I used this work-free Monday for some nail art experiments. One thing I've wanted to try for quite some time were watercolor nails. The effect looks lovely and like true water colors I used back in kindergarden and primary school. There are different ways to get this look and I followed Rebecca's tutorial, which you can find *here*.
