New In My Stash - April 2013

Hi everyone!

Back in my 500 follower giveaway I asked you to tell me what you would like to see on my blog in the future. It seems like a lot of people like hauls, so I decided to introduce a new series on My Polish Stash, the "What's New In My Stash" post. At the end of each month, I will share with you the nail polishes and beauty items I purchased during the month. So during April I bought quite a lot of products, mainly from money and gift certificates I got for my birthday. So without any further ado, let's dive right into it :)

Let's start with the drugstore nail polishes. In the beginning of April, Catrice released their Candy Shock Limited Edition and I just couldn't help it and had to pick up all four pastel shades. If you have read my review on that collection, you already know that they were a major disappointment.

Vanilla Love - Bring Me Peach - Play It Blue - I Scream: Ice Cream!

At the same time Essence came out with their Floral Grunge Trend Edition and I picked Lily Bloom and Grunge Me Tender. You can find the review of the two polishes here.

I also picked up three polishes from the new Essie collection for Spring 2013, which is called Madison Ave-Hue. The ones I got are Hip-Anema, Maximillian Strasse Her and Avenue Maintain. The latter one I got from Transdesign, hence it has the salon formula and the thin brush, while the other two are from my local DM drugstore. So far, I haven't noticed a difference between the salon and the drugstore formula. Have you?

Along with my Transdesign order, I got some China Glazes. I have been lusting after a few of the Avant Garden collection polishes, so I got Fancy Pants, Keep Calm, Paint On and Mimosa's Before Mani's (I really don't get the name so I'd be grateful if someone could fill me in about this strange name!).

I also got Grafitti Glitter from the Glitz 'n Pieces collection. I cannot say I am really wowed by this collection, but still I wanted to try it, because I love black glitter. And maybe this will make a nice sandwich manicure, who knows. Of course I also had to try their new Holographics polishes, so I threw Strap On Your Moonboots and OMG A UFO into the cart as well.

The last polish I got in my Transdesign order is Orly Elation Generation from their Hope And Freedom collection and I loooove this hot pink jelly, as you can see here. As you might know, I love indie polishes and I have come across the pretty Wingdust polishes so many times, that I finally decided to give this brand a try as well. I got Breathing Underwater and Midnight Madness, but I haven't worn these yet. I wish I had realized that Midnight Madness consists of shredded glitter before my order, because I am not a fan of this kind of glitter. I'll give it a try anyways because I love the colors in the black base.

So that was it for the polish part of this post. I also splurged on some make up items this past month that I'd like to show you. First up is the Urban Decay Glinda palette, which my boyfriend got me for my birthday. What can I say, I love the colors and quality of the eyeshadows!

I also love to play with blushes (I have to be careful though and not use too much, otherwise I'll look like a clown because I am super pale). My collection has been lacking a cool toned pink blush, so I decided to get Pale Pink by Bobbi Brown. For long workdays, I like to use cream blushes, simply because they last longer on me. Stila Petunia works really great for me so far. Last but not least I picked up the highlighter from the Catrice Candy Shock LE. It leaves a very subtle champagne shimmer on the skin and is great for everyday.

I have been eyeing That Gal by Benefit for quite some time and this month I finally bought it. I do not use it as a primer underneath my makeup, I rather mix it with my foundation (especially the matte ones), to give it a more dewy finish. The L'Oreal Nude Magique BB Powder is a disappointmend so far. It is so hard to get out of the pan and if I can finally get something on my brush, it doesn't come off the brush anymore. Maybe I am using the wrong brush, so I don't want to give up on that product, yet. I haven't tried the Essence Stays No Matter What Mascara, but the Max Factor False Lash Effect one has quickly become my favorite mascara.

Last but not least, I bought some lipsticks. I am addicted to lipsticks, especially the bright ones that are on trend this Spring/Summer season. I got various MAC lipsticks as well as my very first Too Faced and Lime Crime lippies :D

I want candy - Glamour 101 - Geradium - Sweetie - Impassioned - Lustering

And here they are swatched on the back of my hand:

I think that is all I got during this past month. I know it's quite a lot and I probably should put myself on a no-buy for the next month or two. But sadly I have no willpower when it comes to nail polish and makeup, so let's see wheter or not there will be new products in my stash at the end of May ;)

I hope you enjoyed this post. Let me know which of the items you want me to swatch for you first. Have a great day and thanks for reading!
