New In My Stash - May 2013

Hello everyone!

Can you believe it is the last day of the month already? For me, time really flew by way too fast. But the end of the month also means it is time for another "What's new in my stash" post, which will relentlessly visualize that once more I spent way too much money on nail polish and beauty products :D So while this post will give me a slightly bad conscience, I hope you will enjoy it (don't get me wrong, I really like writing these posts and I enjoy my purchases)! I decided to add a little "first impression" on the products, since clearly I haven't used them long enough to give a thorough review on them. So to see which products made it into my stash this past month, read on after the jump! But beware, this will be a wordy and picture heavy post ;)

Let us start with the nail polishes. I already showed you my tiny Kiko haul from Cologne and I swatched them for you *here*. I also picked up one of Essence's new Show Your Feet polishes called Electric Blue. I really like these for my toes, because they're super long lasting and pigmented. The color reminds me of Revlon Royal or Essie's Butler Please, but I haven't compared them, yet.

When I was in Cologne to go to Kiko, I went to a Douglas perfumery and stumbled upon the Essie Birthday sets. Those actually were Buy 3 Pay 2 packages of selected colors. I picked the one with the three shades from their Poppy Razzi Summer 2012 collection. It contained Lights, Camera and Action, three bright but not neon colors. While Lights (the pink) is a real creme, the other two are more on the crelly side.

From my local DM drugstore I picked up two colors from the P2 Volume Gloss range, since I have heard so many good things about it. I had been eyeing 070 Funky Babe for a while and I also got 080 Grande Dame. I haven't worn them, yet, but I think both shades will look great on my toes this Summer ;)
The two Astor Perfect Stay nail polishes I got for free when I purchased two of their new Lipbutters, which I will show you later. The two colors I chose were Tickle My Pink and So Coal. Usually I never really look at Astor's nail polishes, since they offer nothing special in my eyes.

A few weeks back Chiro from Nail Of This Week asked me, if I'd like to participate in a group buy from a Japanese web shop. When I saw that they sold Zoya and OPI, I had to take part. So she got me three of the OPI Bond Girls Liquid Sand polishes in Solitaire, Tiffany Case and Jinx, which I compared to Kiko Sugar Mat Poppy Red *here*. I also picked OPI My Vampire Is Buff, a soft nude creme from their Eurocentrale collection.

Also from the group buy I got Zoya Chyna, London and Godiva from the Pixie Dust range for Fall 2012. I have worn Godiva already and love it! I cannot wait to try the other two.

The last two items I got from the Japanese web shop are black and white Polka Dot from Nubar. I wanted these mainly to recreate the Speckled nails as shown in this tutorial. I just wish the glitter in both Polka Dot polishes was more dense, as I could not get a lot of glitter onto a nail wheel with one coat.
This Spring, I am completely obsessed with the brights/neon trend. I just love to wear bright shirts, tights and of course nail polish. In a German webshop I came across the Models Own ICE Neons and threw Pukka Purple and Pink Punch into the cart. Pukka Purple is not really a neon shade, but it is densely pigmented and is a one coater! Pink Punch is a jelly polish and I love how bright this shade is! Both colors dry to a matte finish.

I mainly visited the webshop Lovely Cosmetics, because I wanted the Models Own Fruity Pastel collection, since I have hardly any pastel polishes. And these are scented, how cute is that?! When swatched on a nail wheel, the formulation of these polishes was good. I will wear them on my nails and show you some swatches soon, promise!

Last but not least, I have some Illamasqua nail polishes to show to you. Illamasqua recently had a huge sale going on, where everything was 50% off. Obviously, their server couldn't handle the huge run. I tried to place an order, but it never went through. Three days later, I got a shipping confirmation, two more days later I got an order confirmation and another day later, a parcel from Illamasqua arrived at my doorstep. Looks like my order went through after all, so now I am a proud owner of Speckled, Pink Raindrops, Raindrops and Séance.

That is it for the nail polishes. Of course I also bought some other beauty items. The lipstick hoarder that I am, I had to get MAC's RiRi Woo when it became available online. From their Baking Beauties collection I picked up Raspberry Swirl, another perfect shade for Spring that goes very well with my new dark brown hair color ;) During Illamasqua's 50% off sale I bought their Eurydice lip stick, a matte bright fuchsia color. This is my first Illamasqua lipstick and will be my last. Even though the color is awesome, I just don't like their super dry formula that tugs and pulls on my lips while applying.

Astor recently launched their version of "chubby sticks" called Soft Sensation Lipcolor Butter and of course I had to check them out. On my first visit to the drugstore I only got two colors, namely Magic Magenta and Feeling Feline. It was love at first swipe, so I picked up two more colors the other day. This time, Cheeky Cherry and Unguilty Pleasure made it home with me. I really love these! They're very hydrating on my lips and pigmentation is good (much better than the original Clinique Chubby Sticks, but not as pigmented as their Intense version).

MAC's Baking Beauties collection with its pastel colors was right up my alley and when I saw the display, I immediately fell in love with the Pearlmatte face powder in Pink Buttercream. It works great as a highlighter on my pale skin and I might even use it as a blush.
From Catrice's recent limited edition Hip Trip, the hydrating bronzing powder made it into my stash. I can't really tell if it is hydrating, but the color works really well on my skin - it's not orange or ashy. Since it does not contain any shimmer, it also works great as a contour. And for 4,49€ you get a lot of product!
The last skin product I purchased this month was the Dior Nudeskin BB Cream in light. I have heard many good things about it and when I tried this in store, I just had to give it a try. I have only used it a couple of times, but so far my skin seems to like it.

Phew, that was a whole lot of stuff! I can still hear my wallet moan and I really think I better put myself on a no buy for a month or two. But please let me know that I am not the only obsessive compulsive nail polish and make up buyer ;)

With this, I wish you a great and fun weekend!
