Mint dotticure in memory of Talia

Good evening my fellow reader!

Today's manicure is inspired by a very sad story. You might have heard about the YouTube beauty guru Talia Joy Castellano passing away last Tuesday morning. In case you haven't, she was a 13-year old girl battling two types of aggressive cancer for half her life. However, when I watched her videos, it didn't feel like a young girl was talking to me. The way she saw things and talked about them appeared so grown up and the way she accepted her disease and even smiled through everything made me want to cry. If you want to know what I am talking about, just watch her cancer vlogs. It's heartbreaking. A young person shouldn't have to endure such horrible things. Honestly, I am not a religious person, but I do hope she is in a better place now without all the pain. You will be missed little lady!
Besides doing make up, Talia was also incredibly skilled at nail art. The last Instagram photo she posted was a minty green manicure. Inspired by that pic, Nicole from Nail Polish Wars came up with the idea to post mint green nails this Friday. Of course I had to join her, so here is my mint green manicure in honor of the lovely Talia.

The mint color is Sally Hansen Mint Sorbet from their Xtreme Wear Range and for the white dots I used Color Club Paris White. I had to paint three coats of the mint green to get it nice and even, because the first two coats were a bit patchy. Mint Sorbet also is a bit more green in real life, but I just couldn't make it look right. Please ignore the fact that mint green clashes with my skin tone and gives me lobster hands!

With this, I am wishing all of you a relaxing weekend. I hope you can spend it with your loved ones.
And remember to always keep swimming...
