It is that time of the year and again I wish Halloween was bigger here (or I was living in the US instead). I can't help but love the costumes, parties, decorations and food that come with Halloween. Even though I am not celebrating, at least my nails should have a little Halloween party. So I pulled out the orange and purple polishes, sponges, stamping plates and gave it a go. Uhm, wait... did I just say stamping plates?! Yup, I am taking baby steps at this nail art and I hope that I'll be able to master the technique in the future. At the moment I am still struggling to find the perfect polish and stamper for my needs. So these skittles are far from being perfect, but I hope you will enjoy them anyway. I surely do ;)
On my index finger I am wearing a gradient of Wet 'n Wild - Black Creme and Essie - No More Film. My middle finger is painted with China Glaze - Papaya Punch and stamped with a design from Bundle Monster Plate BM-305 using Essence's black stamping polish. My ring finger again is Papaya Punch topped with OPI - Spotted. My pinkie nail simply is INM Northern Lights over No More Film.
As you can see, the stamping design is a bit crooked. I really need to learn to line up the designs with my free edge. I used this double sided stamper from BornPrettyStore, but wasn't 100% happy with it. The rubber is pretty hard, so I have to roll at over my quite curved nails instead of stamping. I heard from Jen from the Nail Polish Project that there is a more squishy XXL stamper out there that is supposed to work better for nails with a pronounced c-curve. I will try to get my hands on this one and hope it'll make stamping easier for me.
What are you wearing on your nails this Halloween? I am wishing all of you a good time and happy trick or treatin'!
