long time no read. I hope all of you had a wonderful Christmas time! I came back from the US in the evening of the 22nd, so I was still quite jetlagged during our family celebrations, but now it looks like I've finally adapted to German time again. Btw, let me know of you would like to see some impressions from my trip to New Orleans and wintery New York City!
Today is the last day of the year. Wowza, where did 2013 go? It flew by way to fast for my liking, but I am kinda glad to leave the old year behind and start over again in 2014. May it bring lots of good moments (and maybe a new job ;) ). So today it is time to share with you my favorite manicures of this past year. I listed them in no particular order. Enjoy!
Obviously textured polish was THE thing in 2013 and I totally fell for this nail trend. The first textured polish I came across and loved was P2 Sand Style polish in Confidential, a dupe for OPI Alcatraz Rocks, which sadly got discontinued.
Kiko released their take on the textured finish with their Sugar Mat range. My favorite of those was Poppy Red, which again is a dupe for an OPI polish called Jinx.
Zoya - Chyna. Another textured collection I absolutely adore are the Pixie Dusts from Zoya. They apply like a dream, wear well and are so sparkly <3
Barry M Gelly Hi-Shine - Passion Fruit. Another popular "finish" in 2013 was gelly or gel-shine. These are creme polishes with a super glossy finish. My favorites were the ones by Barry M with their highly pigmented and colorful shades.
Essie - In The Cabana. I love this color! Sadly this Resort collection did not find its way to German drugstores, so I had to hunt this down this polish online. So glad I found it!
China Glaze - You Drive Me Coconuts. I always look forward to the release of China Glaze's Summer collections. While some of the Sunsational polishes were a bit disappointing due to their sheerness (is that even a word?), You Drive Me Coconuts was more pigmented and a gorgeous "in your face" summer color.
OPI - Die Another Day. This bright glowy red from the James Bond 007 Fall collection was love at first sight.
Illamasqua - Speckled. There's something about the combination of this pastel purple and the black glitter, don't you thing so?! I would have gotten more of the IMperfection polishes if they weren't so expensive.
Lush Lacquer - Freckles. Translucent neon glitter in a clear base? Yes please! I was so happy when Lush Lacquer shipped internationally for a short time during Summer so I could snag some of their neon glitter toppers.
Nerd Lacquer - Don't Panic. One of my favorite indie brands and I was glad to see Amanda returning in 2013. Looks like she is not restocking her store at the moment, but I hope the polishes with the nerdy names will be available again soon.
Ninja Polish - Nebula. Well, there's nothing left to say about this polish, the pictures say it all ;)
With this, I am wishing you all a great New Year's Eve and a happy new year 2014!
