Essie - Armed and Ready

Hi everyone!

I apologize for the lack of posts this past week. Last week kept me super busy. I had to coach several students in a course about molecular biology. It is always fun to go "back to the roots" (as a Bachelor student I took the exact same course), but it is kinda stressful when you need to get your own work done at the same time. This past weekend I went to Hamburg to see the show "Corteo" by Cirque Du Soleil. The tickets were a present from my parents for my PhD and I was really excited, because I've been wanting to see one of their performances for years. What can I say, it didn't disappoint me. It was pretty amazing, especially the artistic performances. That would have been the perfect occasion to wear one of my China Glaze Worlds Away polishes, but it didn't work out that way (in fact, I ended up wearing Purr-fect Plum by China Glaze, because it matched my lipstick, lol). Right after I came home from this weekend trip I fell sick. So I spent those last two days at home on my couch, but today I feel good enough to finally write this post.

So without further ado, let's get to the nail polish I want to show you today. This is Essie Armed And Ready from their Go Overboard collection for Spring 2012. I picked this one up while I was in NYC last April, but somehow I completely forgot to wear it until recently. What a shame, because it really is a pretty color!

OPI - Skyfall

Happy hump day lovelies!

I am back with another polish from OPI's Holiday collection 2012. This collection is inspired by 50 years of James Bond movies and named after the newest movie Skyfall. Although I am not a big fan of James Bond (honestly, I cannot stand Daniel Craig, sorry), I still love this collection a whole lot. After I was overwhelmed by Live And Let Die, I had high expectations for the other members of the collection. So next I tried Skyfall, the eponym of the collection. Read on after the jump to find out if Skyfall has met my expectations.

OPI - Live And Let Die from the Skyfall Holiday Collection 2012

Happy Sunday everyone!

Yes, it is Sunday already at my end of the world. Why do weekends always go by so quick? I feel like there is not enough time to finish everything I have planned for those two days.
Anyways, today I have a polish for you that I've wanted to try before Christmas already, but then didn't get around to wearing it. When I finally painted in on my nails, I didn't want to take it off anymore, because it was such a stunning polish. I am talking about Live And Let Die from OPI's Skyfall Holiday collection 2012. This is my favorite Christmas collection of the year 2012, because I think it is a strong collection with lots of pretty colors and finishes. So far I got four out of the twelve polishes and I might get two more after my wallet has recovered from my pre-Christmas hauls. But first things first. Here is Live And Let Die in all its beauty.

a-England - Princess Sabra

Good evening everyone!

How are you doing? I hope all is well at your end. I am fine, just permanently feeling cold these days. Winter has returned this past weekend, including snow, freezing cold temperatures and chilling winds. I would enjoy the landscape all covered in snow, if only getting to work wasn't such a pain over here when we get a few inches of snow. So right now I am sitting on my couch with a blanket, a hot cup of Chai tea and a hot water bottle (oh where would I be without thee these days?!). That is how I like cold Winter evenings :)

The polish I want to show to you today is one of Adina's lovely creations. She is the mastermind behind the independent nail polish brand a-England. If you haven't heard about about her collections, you must have been living under a rock those past years ;) All of her polishes are just amazing, both finish as well as formula-wise. Here I show you Princess Sabra from the The Legends collection.

How I Do It: Hand Care

Happy Monday everyone!

Welcome to the second post in my "How To" series. This time I want to talk about hand care. I don't want just my nails to look nice and healthy, but taking good care of my hands in general is important to me. I have sensitve skin plus I work in a laboratory, where I have to wear gloves most time of the day. This plus washing my hands quite often and environmental influences stress the skin on my hands. In order for them to be healthy and happy, I need to pamper them regularly. So in this post I want to share with you my tips and products for happy hands :)

Ninja Polish - Nebula... Or the polish that no words can describe!

Happy Friday everyone!

First of all, I want to thank each and everyone of you for the amazing response to my last Polish Days post! I was overwhelmed by the amount of comments and hits my nail polish collection post has received so far. I know it was a bit off-topic, but it is great to see that you people didn't mind ;)

Today I have for you a polish that is just too awesome and no words will ever do this nail polish any justice. I am talking about Ninja Polish's Nebula. I got this for free with my order of their Holiday collection, but now it is available in their webshop, too. So, less talkie, more lookie. Prepare to drool!

#PolishDays January 2013: Something New

Welcome dear reader
to the very first Polish Days event of 2013. This month’s topic is “Something New” – thanks to Hannah from PollyPolish for coming up with this great theme!

I have to apologize in advance, because this post does not include my nails. Sorry for disappointing you, but I hope you’ll read on anyways! This blog is called My Polish Stash and I have been blogging for a little over one and a half years by now without ever really showing you my polish stash (ok, there was a rather rudimental post in the very beginning of my days as a blogger, but that does not really count). Over the last year, my stash has drastically expanded. Further, I moved my beloved polishes into a new home just after Christmas. So I thought sharing some impressions of my stash would nicely suit the “Something New” theme. Plus, ever since I became passionate about painting my nails, I’ve always wanted to make a spreadsheet, but then never got around to doing it. So during my Christmas holidays I went through my stash, reorganizing it and filing every single bottle of nail polish (and purging my collection at the same time, so watch out for an updated blog sale in the near future ;) ) and putting them together into a spreadsheet, which you find HERE.
So if you’re not put off by the thought of seeing my polishes’ home instead of my painted nails, read on after the jump.

New Blog Series! How I Do It: Cuticles

Happy Friday lovelies!

I have been blogging for over one and a half years now and I've realized, that so far I have just showed you nails, nails and nail. Well, I guess that is what most of you are here for, but since this is a fresh start into a new year, I decided to blog about some additional things as well. Don't be afraid, they will still be nail polish related ;) One obvious topic is nail and hand care, so I prepared a little blog series for you that will guide you through my nail routine. I am aware that you have read such "How To"s over and over again, but since everyone does it a little differently, I still find it worth sharing. So today I will show you how I keep my cuticles neat and healthy.

What I wore on New Year's Eve: China Glaze - Champagne Kisses

Happy New Year everyone!

I hope all of you had a great time celebrating New Year's Eve, whether you've been out partying or just spend a calm evening with loved ones. I did the latter. We made pizza at a friend's, played games and watched the fireworks at midnight (yes, I am getting old, lol). We had a really good time, and honestly I do not need a huge party on New Year's Eve (although I would LOVE to spend it at Times Square once ;) ). So I hope everyone had a great start into the year 2013, may it be a good one!

I didn't get around to show you what I wore on NYE, so that is what I am showing you today. Initially I had planned to do some firework nail art, but I simply didn't have enough time to do it. So I went through my stash and chose Champagne Kisses from China Glaze. It is part of this year's Holiday Joy collection and this polish just screams Christmas to me.
