[Swatches & Review] ~ Sally Hansen Designer Limited Edition

Happy Friday lovelies!

Today I have a little swatchathon for you. For this year's New York Fashion week the nail polish brand Sally Hansen cooperated with three designers Rodarte, Prabal Gurung and Tracy Reese to create their new Designer collection. The result are six stylish colors with various finishes: there are cremes, jellies and a foil polish. I must admit I am not a fashion victim and I haven't heard of these designers before, but I can see these nail polishes going well with lots if different outfits this Fall. Let's have a closer look.

Manhattan Community Colors ~ Cross-Berry

Hi everyone,

today I want to share with you one of my very few Manhattan nail polishes. I rarely pay attention to their nail polishes as the colors are rather boring to me. Every now and then though, Manhattan comes up with an interesting limited edition they created in association with fashion gurus (remember the blogger collection last year). Their newest LE is called Community Colors, which features 20 nail polishes that were developed via "crowdsourcing": a community of nail polish lovers created various colors of which the 20 most popular ones made it into this limited edition. And finally, Manhattan ventured out of their creme-finish comfort zone and released glitter, foil and jelly polishes, so I was excited to see these. I ended up getting only one polish which seemed the most unique to me. The color I chose was Cross-Berry, a muted purple with green shimmer and tiny multichrome flakes. It is so complex and hard to describe, so let's have a closer look :)

OPI ~ Stay The Night

Welcome everyone!

It's Friday again, yay :) I am excited for this weekend as I havea few fun things coming up. Tonight I am finally going to see Despicable Me 2 with some colleagues. Have you seen this movie? I never get tired of these animated movies and one just has to love the Minions. Afterwards we'll go for some burgers - perfect treat after a busy work week.
I definitely will do some Minion nail art soon (initially I had planned to wear Minions for when I watch the movie, but I did not have the time for nail art). The polish I want to share with you today is just as much fun though. With my last Asos order I got some OPI polishes from the Eurocentrale and Mariah Carey collection, because they were on sale - and guess who can't resist a good deal? This girl! So here is Stay The Night, a black Liquid Sand polish with pink glitter.

Coverband ~ Sticks 'n Stones over China Glaze ~ Shell-O

Hell-O there!

After wearing some fall-ish leopard skittles I felt like taking a bright pink out for a walk again. I chose China Glaze Shell-O from their Sunsational Summer Neon collection 2013. I got this polish back in May (I believe), but haven't word it until now. After reading all these reviews on the super sheer formulation of most of these jellies I shied away from painting my nails with them. But I just loved the color of Shell-O too much to not wear it, so I took the effort to paint three coats onto my nails and I am glad I did. The result made up for the watery formula. To spice things up even more, I layered the black and white glitter Sticks 'n Stones from Coverband on top of it.

I'm a buff leopard from Warsaw

Happy Monday!

I hope y'all had a relaxing weekend and are ready for a new week. I honestly cannot wait for the next two weeks to be over, as I will finally go on holiday in the beginning of September. Fingers crossed those last work days will pass by quickly ;)

Last week I came across some lovely leopard glitter skittle nails. Unfortunately I cannot remember on which blog I saw those, but they inspired me to create my first ever leopard manicure. Well, actually it is only a leopard accent nail, but I love how this came out.

Mood Ring Manicure with CND Effects

TGIF :)

Some of the CND Effects polishes have been sitting in my stash unused for far too long. I remember I got them because a long time ago I saw a Mood Ring manicure on All Lacquered Up. Seems like I never recreated this manicure until now. Shame on me, because CND's Effects are such lovely polishes. So here finally is my take on a mood ring manicure.

China Glaze ~ You Drive Me Coconuts

Hello everyone!

Today I have another Summer favorite of mine to share with you. As you might know, I just love bright neons for the sunny season and every year I cannot wait for China Glaze to release their neon collection. They never fail to disappoint me, just think of their Poolside collection or the shimmery Summer Neons from last year *__* This year, China Glaze released the Sunsational collection consisting of six cremes and six jellies. Neon jellies? Yes please! So I ordered five of them as soon as they became available. One of them was You Drive Me Coconuts and it was love at first swipe!

Gradient Tribal Nails

Hello everyone,

how can it be Monday again? I hope all of you had a great weekend! Since the weather was nice, we had a little barbeque and I tried the famous S'mores for the first time. In the grocery store I came across a bag of giant marshmallows and had to pick them up. While browsing Instagram I discovered that August 10th was National S'mores Day - how fitting ;) A had a hard time roasting my marshmallows over the grill, because I didn't have a long stick or fork and I almost burned my hand, but it was worth it. So gooey and sweet and yummy, lol. I also found a recipe for S'mores cupcakes which I need to try soon :D

OK, enough with the rambling, on to the nails! Today's manicure was kind of a fail to me and I am not overly happy with it. Still I decided to publish it as I wanted to share an honest review of the Born Pretty Store Nail Art Pen with you. For quite some time I didn't know what to do with a nail art pen, because I am not overly skilled at free-handing designs. While browsing blogs for inspiration I came across Sammy's Tribal Nail design and thought that was a nice, doable design for me. It turned out that manageable doesn't necessarily mean it comes out beautiful, lol.

Essie ~ The More The Merrier & Lush Lacquer ~ Freckles

Hi gals

and happy Friday! Today I want to share with you the third polish I picked up from Essie's Naughty Nautical collection. Please welcome The More The Merrier in my stash! Essie calls this a "juicy lime green" and it has a creme finish. This shade isn't for the color-shy, but you just got to love this vivid bright green, it is so perfect for Summer! To add a little extra I applied one coat of Lush Lacquer Freckles from their new neons collection on top. So put your sunglasses on, here we go :D

Catrice ~ Sunny Side from the L'Afrique C'est Chique collection

Hi loves!

I have another sandstyle polish for you :) Surprised much?! I admit that this summer I love to go with the flow and these textured finishes really grew on me. So when I heard Catrice would be releasing a limited edition featuring textured polishes, I knew I needed to have a look at these. Well, the colors of the L'Afrique C'est Chique collection didn't overly appeal to me except for the sunny yellow. I usually like yellow, just not on my nails because it looks weird against my skintone. Since I rarely have any yellows in my stash, I thought I'd take Sunny Side home anway.

a-England ~ Love Is Enough

Good morning sunshine!

I hope everyone had a great weekend! This past Saturday we had our 10 years school reunion party in my hometown. I cannot believe it's been ten years since I graduated from high school. I am getting old, lol. But it was really nice meeting all these people I haven't seen in years and seeing what they've become.

The polish I wore for this event was Love Is Enough and is a new addition to the Heavenly Quotes collection from a-England. This color is an olive green base with gold and silver specks and has a foil finish. I find this to be a very complex shade, as at certain angles you can see flashes of blue and pink as well.

Essie ~ Naughty Nautical

Hi gals!

TGIF! It's been another super hot day over here and I am glad the working part of today is over. All I want to do now is bathe my feet in cold water and eat an ice cream (too bad I don't have any, so cold water will have to suffice).
A lovely friend on instagram asked me if I could swatch some colors from the Naughty Nautical collection by Essie for Summer 2013 in case I should get any. I already showed you Sunday Funday, a gorgeously bright coral with flecked shimmer. Today I have for you Naughty Nautical, another favorite from this collection.
