[Review] Sally Hansen Satin Glam halfmoon skittles

Happy Sunday lovelies!

Today really is a sunny day over here, so it's the perfect opportunity to take some manicure pictures outside. I decided to finally use the latest Sally Hansen collection called Satin Glam and do some fancy half moons. These polishes dry to a shimmery matte or suede finish. Please ignore the super awkward hand pose while trying to squeeze in my thumb into the picture ;) For a thorough review of this collection read on after the jump!

All of the colors were easy to work with, neither too thin nor too thick. The pearly white Crystalline and the coral Pink Chic (why is this called pink when it is not pink at all?) were the sheerest of the bunch and after two coats there still was some visible nail line. The other four were decently pigmented, with Teal Tulle and Go Gold being my favorites (both can be opaque in one coat). The purple Tafetta and the black Silk Onyx are nice colors, too, but I am not holding my breath for them.
Since they're suede polishes I was expecting them to dry fast like the OPI Suedes. However, these took quite some time to dry, especially when I did more than one coat. Another drawback for me is the bottle. I am not a fan of the super long and skinny handle. No matter how well I wipe off the brush, the excess polish from the handle comes running down, resulting in too much polish on my nail (does that make sense?! I hope you know what I mean). Also, the silver plastic cap is rather cheap-looking, but that is just my own personal preference, as I am a sucker for nice packaging.

While in Germany the collection consists of six shades, the US in addition gets a silver and a coppery orange, so eight shades in total. The Satin Glam collection is limited edition and is available in selected drugstores across Germany from January on, but I don't know for how long these will be around. Again my US nail polish enthusiasts are lucky, because these will make it into the permanent range (read more about it here). A 10 ml bottle retails for 7,99€.

Will you be snagging any of the polishes from this collection? Let me know!
Have a great day and thanks for stopping by!
