My Birthday Nails

Hello everyone!

I am back from the dead! This weekend was exhausting! This past Saturday I turned 30 *yikes* and we had a big party. That meant a lot of shopping and preparation, but it was worth it! The weather was beyond perfect and I had a fun day with family and friends and got the best birthday cake ever :) That night I only had 3 hours of sleep, so I felt a bit like a zombie the next day. I am so glad I have today off from work, so I can relax a bit more and clean up the aftermath of 30 people having a BBQ party.
For my birthday I wanted something fun on my nails, so colorful glitter was a must! Since I love cupcakes (especially Red Velvet), I dedicated an accent nail to this sweet treat.

In another group order from Japan, that the lovely Chiro was so kind to organize, I got a few of the new Nubar Crushed Candy nail polishes. These are matte neon glitter in a clear base. The ones I used here are Berry Blue Crush and Cotton Candy Crush. To make the colors pop, I painted them over OPI Alpine Snow. For the cupcake nail I laid down one coat of China Glaze Make A Spectacle before I free-handed the cupcake with acrylic paint. As a final touch I added some pink and green sprinkles. I am not overly skilled at free-hand nail art, but I like how this came out. And those Crushed Candy polishes are amazing! It seems like Nubar collections are often overlooked, but this one is really worth checking out if you like colorful glitter on your nails!

And with this, I am going back to my couch with a steaming cup of tea and a huge slice of my birthday cake, omnomnom.

Wishing y'all a great start into this new week and thanks for stopping by!
