Nail Art April ~ Autism Awareness

Hello folks!

This month I am taking the "Totally Doable I Have A Life! Challenge". While I like nail art challenges, I cannot keep up with the ones that require to paint your nails every single day of the month. So this one created by CaliforNails is perfect for me. I think this is thought to be an Instagram challenge, but I figured why not share my manicures with my fellow blog readers as well!?
So the first prompt for today is Autism. As you might know, April is Autism Awareness month that has been introduced by the Autism Society back in 1970. I personally don't have a case of autism among family or friends, but still I find it important to spread the word about such a prevalent disease. Since the launch of the Light It Up Blue compaign, blue is the color of Autism Awareness, so I combined a bright blue with the puzzle piece ribbon.

The blue nail polish I chose is Blue Grape from the Barry M Gelly line. This is a true royal blue with a jelly finish. For the ribbon I used OPI Alpine Snow as a base and then outlined the shape with Essie Licorice. Using a dotting tool I filled the ribbon in with OPI Green-Wich Village, Need Sunglasses and Big Apple Red and Blue Grape.

If you want to take part in this challenge, just publish your creations with the hashtag #nailartapr on Instagram :)

Thanks for looking,
Sabine Siggy
