#instafood Vol.3 ~ Brownie In A Mug

Hi there!

Are you one of those people that need a sweet quick-fix from time to time? I surely am, and in 90% of the cases I desperately want cookies or cake, which I rarely have at home. In the remaining 10% I am lusting after Ben & Jerry's ice cream, which is not available in any grocery store around here - oh the joys of living in a small town :) While I love to bake, it is too time consuming and let's face it, I cannot wait that long to still those cravings.
So I recently came across a recipe for a brownie in a mug. It's cake (kind of), has chocolate and can be made in no time at all. Plus, most people usually have all the ingredients at home in their pantry. Sounds perfect to you? Then here is a recipe for you to try and kill those sweet cravings!

Sally Hansen Designer Collection 2014 ~ Color Block Manicure

Hi everyone!

I recently showed you Carnivale and Batbano Blue, the bright colors from the new Sally Hansen Designer Collection 2014 created in collaboration with Tracey Reese and Prabal Gurung. This collection is currently available in select German drugstores. Seems like these polishes are available in the US now, too, where they are featured in a collection called Runway Trends.
The three more pastel shades A Wink Of Pink, Lady Lavender and Mojito looked perfect together, so I decided to create a color block manicure with them. As you will see in a minute, I obviously suck at color blocking, but still I liked the result.

Arcane Lacquer ~ An Amorous Disposition

Hi there!

Back in February I placed an order at Harlow & Co. I mainly wanted the KB Shimmer Clearly On Top top coat, because I have heard nothing but good reviews about it. While I was browsing the website I threw some indie polishes that were on my wishlist into the cart as well. When I have a package with nail polish in the mail I get all excited, but this time my order just wouldn't arrive. Then Katie, the owner of Harlow & Co, sent me an email saying my order got back to her with the package being labeled as "unclaimed". Seems like my friendly postman forgot to leave a note that there's a package waiting for me at the post office or that notification got lost :( Gladly, Katie was so kind to re-send my package without charging any extra fees. I finally got my order this week and it was so worth the wait, because I love every single item I bought :D Thank you so much Katie for your help and great customer service!
I've been wanting to try some Australian indie polishes for a while now, especially Arcane Lacquer. The one I got is called An Amorous Disposition, which is a raspberry pink jelly base with "a mix of silver, red and black hexes, along with some holo flake". Prepare for some eye candy and fulsome praise, because that nail polish is bomb diggs (thanks to Nicole from YoungWildAndPolished for implanting that term into my head, lol)!

Sally Hansen - Batbano Blue & Dupes

Hello everyone!

When I received the new Sally Hansen Designer collection 2014 for review purposes, one color immediately jumped at me. #845 Batbano Blue, designed by Tracy Reese, looked a lot like one of my favorite blue polishes of all time, China Glaze Frostbite. When I went through my stash I found another nail polish that looked similar in the bottle, Essie's Aruba Blue. So here is a little comparison of those three for you.

Tequila Sunrise Gradient Nails

Happy Sunday everyone!

Today is the first real day of Spring/Summer over here. It finally got warmer and the sun is shining bright. Hence I am sitting on the balcony typing this post and soaking up the sunlight - wearing SPF of course! ;) I hope it will stay this way for a while. Good sunny weather is like an instant mood lift for me and I feel much more energized than on a gloomy rainy autumn day.
In line with the perfect weather it was time to pull out some more bright and fun shades. I recently received OPI's The IT Color in the mail and didn't really know what to do with it. I love the sunny yellow color, but shades like this are hard to pull off for me because they clash with my skin tone. So instead of wearing it alone I did a gradient with Sally Hansen Carnivale from the new Designer collection.

[TAG] Youtube Made Me Buy It

Hello there!

Today I have something a little different for you.
A few months ago I saw the "Youtube Made Me Buy It" tag floating around Youtube. In those videos, the "beauty gurus" talked about products they bought because of other Youtubers. I wasn't exactly tagged by anyone, but still I thought it would be fun to share with you items I got after seeing a video/reading a blog post. I admit I can be easily enthused when it comes to nail polish or make up, but especially with more pricey products I think twice and try to get as many opinions on an item as I can. Still there were quite a few things I couldn't get out of my head after seeing them for the first time. So here are some of the products I had to get thanks to some of you! Wherever I remember, I will link to the enabler responsible ;)

Lime Crime ~ Pastelchio & Formula X ~ Mindblowing

Hey everyone!

Seems like the month of May has decided to be more like November. It has been raining cats and dogs those past couple of days and it does not feel like Spring at all. So to brighten up the gloomy days I wear bright colors on my nails.
Pastelchio by Lime Crime has been sitting in my drawer for quite a while now and it was about time to finally wear it. I know there is quite a controversy about that brand, but I got my polish (and two of their lippies) before I heard of all the drama. So in the end everyone has to decide for themselves if they want to buy from them or not. I won't be getting more of the Lime Crime polishes, but that is also due to the performance of their Pastelchio nail polish. I will go into more detail about the polishes below.

Weekly Roundup #3

Happy Sunday

and happy Mother's Day to all the lovely mums out there! I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far! I haven't been up to much this weekend. A colleague got married on Friday and we had a nice time celebrating. Sadly the weather wasn't the best, rain poured most of the time. Since Saturday morning after breakfast I haven't been feeling my best. I don't know why, but my stomache starts rumbling everytime I eat something. And no, it is not because I had to many drinks the night before ;) So I will better be skipping my mother in law's cake she made for today... Fingers crossed it'll go away soon! So here are a few pictures of what else happend this week in the house of My Polish Stash.

Happy Mother's Day! Little thank you for our mums :)

Sephora France haul

Happy Thursday everyone!

On my last trip to the US this past December I fell in love with the Formula X for Sephora nail polish range. The variety of colors and finishes is to die for! While I was there, I was completely overwhelmed by the size of the display and had a hard time choosing my favorites. So I ended up buying only two of their polishes, which I immediately regretted upon trying them on at home!
One lucky day (or rather unlucky for my bank account) I was browsing the Sephora France website and came across the Formula X polishes. They do not stock the whole range you people get in the US, but still they offer a pretty good selection. I have always refrained from ordering from Sephora France, because shipping costs are expensive. But then I found a 20% off coupon and simply could not contain myself any longer.

Stag Party Nails

Hi there,

in my last Weekly Roundup post I told you about a friend's stag party. For this day, I wanted to wear something love-related on my nails. I had these water decals from BornPrettyStore lying around for a while and this party was the perfect opportunity to try them! As a base I chose Bikini So Teeny by Essie.

Weekly Roundup #2

Hello everyone,

it's been quiet this week on the blog. Even though I had to work only three days this week thanks to another bank holiday, I have been pretty busy (in a good way). May 1st is Labor Day here in Germany and we spent it with friends and having a barbeque, which is always fun. Friday I took off from work and mainly cleaned the aftermath of last night's BBQ and ran some errands. Saturday was a friend's stag party. The bridesmaid organized a cupcake baking course, which was a lot of fun (if only I hadn't been sick from trying all the dough and frosting, lol). Today, after sleeping in late, I am on a blogging spree and I have lots of fun things coming up, so stay tuned! For more highlights of this week, read on after the jump!

Some of the cupcakes we made - chocolate and banoffee. Not pictured are vanilla and strawberry mascarpone - yummy!
