Today is the first real day of Spring/Summer over here. It finally got warmer and the sun is shining bright. Hence I am sitting on the balcony typing this post and soaking up the sunlight - wearing SPF of course! ;) I hope it will stay this way for a while. Good sunny weather is like an instant mood lift for me and I feel much more energized than on a gloomy rainy autumn day.
In line with the perfect weather it was time to pull out some more bright and fun shades. I recently received OPI's The IT Color in the mail and didn't really know what to do with it. I love the sunny yellow color, but shades like this are hard to pull off for me because they clash with my skin tone. So instead of wearing it alone I did a gradient with Sally Hansen Carnivale from the new Designer collection.
I started out by painting my nails with one coat of The IT Color and then sponged on the gradient following this great tutorial by Sammy from The Nailasaurus. Carnivale has a crelly texture, but this bright coral color still works well for a gradient. To finish everything off and add a little sparkle I applied one coat of INM Northern Lights in gold on top. Only when I edited the photos I realized this manicure looks a lot like a "Tequila Sunrise" gradient I did two years ago, just using different colors.
OPI The IT Color is part of the permanent range, so there is no need to hurry if you want to pick this one up. Carnivale from the new Sally Hansen Designer collection is available in German drugstores throughout May. I don't know if or when this will be available in other countries.
Hope you're having a great sunny day, too, and thanks for reading!
