Catrice ~ Metallicious from the Metallure LE

I haven't bought any Catrice nail polish in quite a while. When I saw the press release for their Metallure limited edition, I was intrigued by the packaging. When I checked out the products in store, I was a bit disappointed, because everything was so frosty and shimmery. Still I took one of their polishes home with me, because I thought a metallic nail polish would work well for stamping. The shade I bought is called Metallicious and is a darkened gold with a hint of olive green.

When I applied the first coat of Catrice - Metallicious, I was disappointed to see that this is not a true metallic finish. It is more a sheer base with tons of golden shimmer. It was opaque with two coats, but I could probably have done a third coat to completely cover my nail line. Like the other products from the Metallure LE, this nail polish is very frosty and prone to brush strokes. On a side note, Metallicious is not suited for stamping, because it is too sheer.

Another thing I did not like about this polish, or all newer Catrice polishes in general, is the brush. I liked the old, flat and thinner brush. Then Catrice started "improving" the brush, making it thick with rounded edges. The brush in Metallicious was frayed and hard to work with, but it was not as wonky as the brushes in the Catrice polishes I used for my Cosmic Latte Galaxy Nails. So Catrice, please please please bring back the old brush or at least make sure they are cut evenly! Thank you.

If you want to check out the Catrice Metallure collection, it is available in German drugstores now until the end of September. The nail polishes retail for 2,79€.

Have you bought anything from the Catrice Metallure collection?
