I am back from my vacation in Spain! I am glad to be back in the world of painting nails and blogging, but at the same time I am sad, because I had a really good time down south.
Anyway, I need to get back on track with the 31DC2014 and today's prompt is "Inspired by a color". For the first time ever I tried some ombre nails in my favorite color purple and yep, I did fail at these.
The idea behind an ombré effect is to have colors that shade into each other, so you paint your nails with a color graduating from light to dark. I failed at using different shades of the same color, because it seems I do not own enough matching purple nail polishes. Polishes I used for this ombré manicure were (from dark to light):
To distract from the fact that the purple colors I used all have different undertones, I added one thick layer of the Dance Legend Sahara top coat. This dries down to a finely textured finish and also adds some silver sparkles.
And now I am off to putting my thinking cap on to come up with some awesome ideas for the remaining days of the challenge :D
