I know I am late to the party, but the Essence Aquatix Trend Edition hadn't really been on my radar until I saw it in a drugstore in Spain. Of course I was immediately drawn to the textured polish of the bunch. 06 Under Water Love is a vibrant deep blue with lots of teal shimmer. In the bottle it has a slight duochrome effect, but that does not translate onto the nails.
The formula of Essence ~ Under Water Love is very nice! You can get away with one coat, but I preferred doing two. Also, the texture becomes more pronounced with two coats, if that makes sense. The consistency is perfect, neither too thin nor too thick and the flat, medium wide brush (somewhere between the flimsy China Glaze brush and the thick Essie wand we have here in Europe) is easy to control. I didn't have to do any clean up when I painted my nails with Under Water Love. This one took a bit longer to dry compared to other textured polishes I have tried (like the Zoya Pixie Dusts or OPI Liquid Sands), but drying time isn't too bad.
I have not worn this with a top coat, yet, but I bet it'll look gorgeous with a shiny finish.
The remaining items of the Essence Aquatix Trend Edition are currently on sale in German drugstores. So if you spot Under Water Love in the clearance bin I highly recommend getting it!
By the way, for these swatches I tried a different hand pose and I am not quite sure if I like it or not.
What do you think?
