The tree is decorated, the cookies are made, the gifts are wrapped; now all that’s left is to wish you a Merry Christmas. So, Merry Christmas dear friends. Thank you for supporting this little blog over this past year. I feel blessed to getting to know so many lovely people via a hobby as simple as nail polish. Happy holidays, here's to an amazing new year filled with all good things!

24 days of Christmas - Twinkling Lights

twinkling lights nail art

Happy Christmas Eve everyone! I hope all the Christmas preparations didn't stress you out and you can now enjoy a few peaceful days with your loved ones.
Shortly before Christmas I decided to go back to my beloved pointy nail shape. I did not take down any lenght, but almonds always look shorter than squares of the same length. Now these babies need to grow to my comfort length so I can file them even pointier, as I did this last summer.

Anyways, on to the nail design for today. I recently ordered a lot of nail art glitter from a German website called CreativeArts, which arrived today. I loved all those sparkly concoctions so much that I had to try them instantly in a nail design.

24 days of Christmas - Sally Hansen Miracle Gel Ruby Shimmers

christmas nail polish

Happy hump day! Today I have for you an impulse buy from the drugstore. If you have been following my blog for a while you might have heard me talk about the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel system and how I am not a huge fan of the range. Some polishes go on patchy, the top coat adds ridges to the color and it does not last longer than a regular manicure. However, when I saw the limited edition sets in my local drugstore I had one weak moment (or two, but that is a different story) and somehow Ruby Shimmers went into my shopping cart.

24 days of Christmas - Ugly Christmas Sweater Nails

christmas nail design

Happy Monday, I hope you had a great start into this new week. Today I am finally back with another 24 days of Christmas post. I missed a few days because I was out of town for work and a family celebration. Instead of squeezing in a post in between every day life duties I prefer to not pressure myself and blog when I am free. So today I have for you my ugly Christmas sweater nails which I intended to post for the #wnac2015 on Instagram.

24 Days of Christmas - Dotticure

easy nail art design
Good evening peeps! If you follow me on Snapchat you might have seen that I went on a little shopping spree with my boyfriend today. We went to Dortmund for the Christmas market with the world's largest Christmas tree where we enjoyed some yummy food and mulled wine. We also went shopping for some Christmas presents for family and friends - and maybe a few things for myself ;o) There might be lots of nail polish involved, so check out my snapchat zabeenuh if you want to see what I got.

24 days of Christmas - Snowflakes

After yesterday's disastrous attempt at Christmas nail decals I went back to a technique I felt more comfortable with - stamping. Snowflakes are a "must do" desing for a Christmas themed nail art challenge. For this manicure I went with a classic cool blue and white combination.

24 days of Christmas

24 days of christmas nail art challenge

Hello hello, welcome December, my favorite month of the year. Last weekend I put up my Christmas decorations and candles and I am looking forward to cozy weekends with a cup of tea and a good book. Also I cannot wait to play with nail polish and come up with some Holiday nail designs. I admit I have been neglecting my nails and this blog since I started my new job in September. To get back on the nail art train I thought I'd do my own "24 days of Christmas" challenge this year. I have done such a Holiday nail art challange waaaay back in 2011. This time I won't follow certain prompts but simply come up with (hopefully) 24 Christmas-y nail designs myself - so stay tuned and keep your fingers crossed I can keep this promise. If you'd love to see a certain design/polish/color combo let me know, I have not prescheduled anything.

Essie Winter collection 2015 - Virgin Snow

pastel lavender nail polish

When I saw the promo pictures of the Essie winter collection called Virgin Snow I was sure I wouldn't be getting any of those shades. I mean, the colors itself looked nice, but I certainly did not need another red nail polish (and I find lots of Essie's reds to be similar looking) and I am not in the market for silver foils or baby pinks either. Still I had to check out the collection as soon as it was released in German drugstores. I ended up buying a shade that is quite unusual for me, because I never fall for pastel colors as they hardly look good against my skin tone. Hence, I was surprised how much I liked Essie Virgin Snow on me.

Happy Thanksgiving to my US followers! I hope you're having a great day with your loved ones and a lot of scrumptious food. Thanksgiving also means Black Friday is coming up. We do not celebrate Thanksgiving in Germany today (it's in October over here), but Black Friday is slowly finding its way here. Mostly online shops have special offers on this day after the US Thanksgiving. If you're looking for a nail polish Black Friday deal check out the New York nail polish brand Madam Glam. winter nail polish

Happy Sunday everyone!
Today I have for you a nail polish from a brand that is new to My Polish Stash. Please welcome Madam Glam, a growing nail polish and fashion brand from New York. I have seen swatches of their polishes on various blogs and instagram accounts, but to be honest I never researched the brand further. When the PR from Madam Glam reached out to me and offered to send me some of their polishes to try I took the opportunity to test drive some shades.

Different Dimension - Chasing Shadows

Fall nail polish purple

Fall is my favorite season of the year. Not as far as the weather is concerned (which usually involves a lot of rain and wind over here), but more the overall mood that comes with it - the colorful falling leaves, early sunsets and cozy evenings with a steaming cup of tea and candlelight. I also prefer a comfy sweater and a warm scarf over a flowy summer dress and flip flops. Thus, it may come as no surprise that Fall nail polish collections are my favorites. One can never have enough deep vampy hues, rich reds or orange tones and saturated shimmers. This fall various indie brands knocked my socks off, one of them being Different Dimension with their Anomalous Phenomena collection. The deep and rich microglitter polishes were love at first sight. Today I have for you the blurple Chasing Shadows, which along with Knock Once For Yes is my favorite of this six piece collection.

#spooktober: Halloween Designs 2015

spooktober halloween nails

Happy Friday! Finally a new post. There is no big reason for my latest absence. My new job keeps me busy and I still need some time to adjust and get things organized. Do not worry, I have not fallen out of love with blogging or nail art, but sometimes life gets in the way. Since I am working with customers I did not want to scare them off with gaudy nails (even though I am sure most of them won't mind or even notice them, but you never know). So most of this year's Halloween nail designs I only wore for a weekend. Here is a little round up of my Spooktober 2015 nail designs.

Hello there, I hope everyone is having a cozy Sunday! Long time no post. My new job is keeping me busy and to be very honest I did not have much energy to paint my nails, let alone do nail art during the past few weeks. This weekend I finally got around to do some Halloween designs. I have had this Halloween themed Bunny Nails HD-D plate in my stash for a long time and I finally wanted to use it.

Why does this song pop up in my head while I am typing this post about ILNP - Summer Crush? I was 14 when that song by Aaron Carter was released and even 17 years later it is still stuck in my head. Why do the most annoying songs always creep into the windings of my brain?! Anyone else experiencing this? Essie - Really Red with F.U.N. Lacquer - Pay Day (H) glitter fade

red with silver nail art

Hello everyone, it has been quiet on the blog this past week, my apologies. If you follow me on my personal Instagram or Snapchat account (I am zabeenuh on both of them) you might know that I went to London for a week. My boyfriend and I wanted to take the opportunity to go on a little vacation before I am going to start my new job. If you are interested in seeing the things I picked up along the way let me know and I will shoot a little haul for you (spoiler alert: there is no nail polish involved. Bummer.).

Said job starts tomorrow morning and hence I took those past few days to prepare myself. I will be working with customers and (at least in the beginning) I will have to skip the hot pinks and neon greens on my nails and rock some "work appropriate" nudes and pinks. Fingers crossed I will be able to wear my usual colors once I have established a relationship with my customers and they realize colorful nails do not make me any less professional than a sophisticated nude.

I had to wait another two or three months for a restock (might have been even longer) and in the meantime the second installment of the Knockout collection already came out. Happy Sunday! How is your weekend going? I hope all is well. Today is a rather busy day for me, because I need to pack my bags for London where I'm going to spend the week. My boyfriend and I wanted to take a little break before I dive into my new job, which starts September 1st. I visited London last year (check out my London shopping tips here) and we both loved it so much that we knew we wanted to go back soon. While we saw most of the famous attractions last time, we want to explore the not-so-touristy areas so see the "real" London this time. Hey everyone,
for today's post I tackled the water marble technique once more. I have done water marble manis in the past, but they're not my favorite thing in the world (because I mess it up 90% of the time). Yesterday I received my Essie Silk Watercolor collection in the mail and I had to play with it immediately. In a YouTube video I saw someone marbling with them. They seemed to work quite well and I liked the way they looked, so I just gave it a try.

Oh well, we still have four more weeks to go and I will enjoy summer while it lasts.

Today I have for you one of the new limited edition shades from the OPI Coca Cola Icons of Happiness collection. This beautiful pale green shimmer is called Visions of Georgia Green and is inspired by the original Coca Cola glass bottle, which celebrates its 100th birthday this year.

Hi everyone, I hope you're having a great weekend. I wanted to do some shopping today, but the weather is too bad to even go outside. The thunderstorms started last night and it's been pouring all day. It is going to be a "stay on the couch in my pjs and blog" kind of day instead - which I do not mind at all.
In my last post I showed you Saltwater Happy and Chillato from the Essie Peach Side Babe summer collection. The third color I picked up is the white Private Weekend, which looks really pretty in the bottle with its sparse silver glass flecks.

Essie - Saltwater Happy & Chillato nail art

Hello everyone,
yes, my nails are back to square nubbins. Last week I broke two nails, one on my left and one on my right hand. I did not feel like putting on fake nails and wait until the short nails have grown out, so I chopped all my nails down. Let me tell you, the stiletto shape is high maintenance and throws you back a lot when you break a nail. That being said, I really liked that nail shape on me, so I will do my best to grow them back! Until then we have to roll with square medium length nails.

[Wear Test] Sally Hansen Miracle Gel - Birthday Suit & starry gradient design

birthday suit sally hansen review

I have already shown you some swatches of the new (at least new to the German market) Sally Hansen Miracle Gel nail polish shades, but I still owe you a thorough review. I have already tried this line when it first came out last year. I wore the shade Dig Fig, but wasn't overly expressed. The color went on patchy, the top coat dissolved the base color so I ended up with even more patches and the whole manicure looked nothing like gel - it lacked volume and shine. Additionally, the whole thing chipped badly after four days and I had to take it off.

On their Instagram page Sally Hansen announced that the Miracle Gel top coat has been reformulated and now gives you "up to 14 days of color and shine [and] now gives you 2x the volume". I was curious to see how this new version performed and gave this line another try.

Hey there,
today I can finally show you a manicure with some colors from the Beach Boys collection from Colores de Carol. I love me some neons during summer and when I first saw swatches of the collection I fell in love. You might says "Nah, they're just cream neon polishes, what's the deal?!", but I really like these. They are bright and fun and just cheer me up. Isn't that enough to justify buying a polish? ;)  I originally ordered the collection in early April, but they seem to have gotten lost in the mail. Carolina was so kind to send out another package, which arrived today. I had to try them immediately in a dry brush gradient I wanted to create for July's weekly nail art challenge on Instagram (#wnac2015).
