[Swatch & Review] Formula X - Mischievous

A couple of days ago I showed you Capricious from the Formula X for Sephora Ombré Glitter collection. During my trip to the US, I picked up another shade from the collection called Mischievous. It is described as "rose and sage ombre glitter". Despite the fact that the finish is not ombre but duochrome, the color description is pretty spot-on. Mischievous has ultra fine rose gold and sage green glitter in a clear base. For some extra sparkles, there are bigger rose gold hex glitters in there.

The color shift in Mischievous is much stronger compared to the effect in Capricious. In direct sunlight, as shown in the first photo, this nail polish appears mostly rose gold, almost copper like. In indirect or diffuse light, the sage green shimmer is much more pronounced. I love the effect and this kinda strange color combination a whole lot!

For the swatches I did two coats of Formula X Mischievous and I feel this is more opaque than Capricious. The formula is slightly thick, but easy to work with. Once it is dry, it has a slightly textured finish, but upon application of one layer of top coat it is completely smooth.

This limited edition has been out for a while now, but it is still available online. Maybe you can even get it in store. So if you see a color from the Ombré Glitter collection by Formula X that you like, I recommend grabbing it quickly! A bottle retails for $12.50 and contains 12ml/0.4 Fl.oz.
