Do you like a little fast food every now and then, but worry about the calories? Frat not, this little treat does not contain any fat or sugar, but will make you just as happy - if you like nail polish that is.
For the 100th birthday of the Coca Cola bottle this year OPI repromoted some of their Coca Cola shades from last year, added two new limited edition shades to the mix and called this the Icons of Happiness collection. Today I have for you Get Cherried Away and a little stamping fun with Turn On The Haute Light aka My Signature is DC.
OPI Get Cherried Away is a reddish purple creme shade. The formula is really lovely, very easy to apply and dries shiny on its own. Shown here are two coats over liquid latex as a base and with Underground Cosmetics Quickie fast drying top coat.
Turn On The Haute Light is a silver foil nail polish, which I have showed you last year in this silver tips manicure. It is nicely pigmented and I was curious to see if it worked for stamping. To go with the drink/food theme I used an image from MoYou tourist plate 06.
Overall, OPI Turn On The Haute Light is a decent stamping polish. It is opaque enough to stamp over darker colors. Probably because of the foil flecks the image does not look as crisp as when one would use a chrome polish and I find it works better when I use images with thin lines rather than large open areas (the foil particles get more concentrated in the thin lines and thus the image is more opaque if that makes any sense). I tried stamping over another color using other images, so stay tuned for these swatches!
The OPI Icons of Happiness collection is out at German retailers now until the end of August. A bottle contains 15ml and retails for 16€.
