Sally Hansen Miracle Gel - Pinky Promise & Pink Tank

nude pink nail polish

First of all I would like to say thank you for the positive response to my giveaway for my 4th blogging anniversary! If you would like to enter for a chance to win one of tree nail polish packages, check out this post.
Today I have another shade from the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel line for you. I have already reviewed Tidal Wave and Mad Woman, which I liked a lot. Let us see if Pinky Promise performed as well as the other two.

Sally Hansen Pinky Promise is a pale nude pink shade with a creme finish. Tidal Wave and Mad Woman were nicely pigmented and covered evenly in two coats. Pinky Promise however was thin and chalky. Sally Hansen recommends using two coats of polish, but with this one I needed three coats to obtain full coverage. It still looked a bit patchy in person, but it isn't too noticeable in the pictures.

Pink Tank is a reddish pink creme shade. The formula is much more pigmented than Pinky Promise, so I wondered if this was any good for stamping. I went with the Asa No Ha pattern from héhé plate 024 which I got from Lady Queen Beauty, a retailer for nail decorations and nail art tools. Pink Tank is pigmented enough to stamp with, but it dried really fast - that is why my index nail looks like s*#$%t, because the polish dried on my stamper before I could transfer it completely onto my nails. So if you're a skilled stamper and work faster than me, then Sally Hansen Pink Tank surely is a great polish for stamping!

This was also my first time using héhé plates, which I had seen on other blogs before. I have to say I am really happy with this plate. The patterns are etched nicely and the images are big enough for my long nails. They are pretty inexpensive, too (usually $2.99 per plate, currently on sale for $2.39) and I will surely try more. If you also want to try héhé plates, you can find them on beautyqueen.com. With the code FYLC15 you get 15% off your whole order. They also offer free shipping worldwide.

Have you tried héhé plates? If so, let me know what you think. I'd also like to hear which is your favorite stamping plate/stamping plate brand, because I am always on the hunt for new images.
Thank you for reading!

  2. Awe thank you so much! Somehow I am not a lover of these pale baby pinks, but it is totally wearable with some nail art ;) Oh and I wish those pointy nails were a bit easier to maintain, haha.
