ILNP - 1UP Ultra Holo

lime green holographic nail polish

Howdy! I hope you're all having a great weekend. Today has been really warm and sunny here in Germany and I've been relaxing on our balcony most of the day (slathered with lots of SPF50 to keep me from burning within minutes). I recently bought more baking and cookbooks and my favorite Sunday "activity" is browsing through recipes for inspiration. By the way, if you're into baking American cakes and/or healhy eating I highly recommend United States of Cakes by Roy Fares and I Quit Sugar by Sarah Wilson. Okay, enough of the randomness, on to some seriously amazing nail polish!

Sunny weather is holo nail polish weather. Today I chose a polish from ILNP's new Ultra Chrome range. 1UP is a bright lime green color. ILNP promises "in your face holographic sparkle" and man, this polish did not disappoint. I tried to capture 1UP in all its glory, but the holographic effect is even stronger in person.

1UP seemed a bit sheer on the first coat, but it covered perfectly with a second coat. I did not apply a top coat, because some can dull the holograhic effect. I do however believe that one layer of top coat will not do any harm to this sparkling goodness.

1UP is the first color I have worn from the new ILNP Ultra Holos and I cannot wait to try the others I got (Paper Route and Missed Calls).

The Ultra Holos are available on the ILNP website where they retail for $10. European stockist Hypnotic Polish sells them for 10,60€.

And now I am off to munch on the blueberry rolls I just made. They're similar to cinnamon rolls, just filled with blueberries. Yummy! What is your favorite thing to do on a Sunday afternoon?
