24 days of Christmas - Ugly Christmas Sweater Nails

christmas nail design

Happy Monday, I hope you had a great start into this new week. Today I am finally back with another 24 days of Christmas post. I missed a few days because I was out of town for work and a family celebration. Instead of squeezing in a post in between every day life duties I prefer to not pressure myself and blog when I am free. So today I have for you my ugly Christmas sweater nails which I intended to post for the #wnac2015 on Instagram.

As my base I used two coats of Essie Fishnet Stockings, which is one of my all time favorite red cremes. Once that was dry I applied Mundo de Unas #1 white and #48 military green onto opposite ends of designs from the MoYou London Festive plate 04, scraped 3 times to slightly blend the color and stamped the design onto my nails. As a top coat I used my usual Quickie top coat by Underground Cosmetics.

I clearly am no expert at stamping straight :/ I guess the problem was that I rolled the squishy stamper over the nails which resulted in crooked images. Next time I need to remember to simply press down the stamper. Or I need to try this fancy crystal clear stamper everyone is talking about. I love the idea of seeing where and how exactly you're placing the design. I have heard very mixed reviews about it though. Have you tried this seethrough stamper? Or do you have a tip on how to nicely line up the design with your nail?

Those were my ugly ugly Christmas sweater nails for today. Thanks so much for reading! xo
