[Swatch & Review] Orly - Mirrorball

Alright, do not forget to breathe, even though this nail polish is truly breathtaking. Have you ever seen such a perfect silver holographic nail polish before? I am not the biggest fan of plain silver on my nails, but this one is so different from every other silver holographic nail polish I have tried.

OPI 50 Shades Of Grey collection - My Silk Tie

The most anticipated movie of this year probably is 50 Shades Of Grey, which is based on the best-selling novel by E.L. James. Have you read the book and are you going to see the movie? I myself have no desire to watch this story on the big screen. Honestly, I cannot quite understand why this book became such a best selling novel, but that is just my personal opinion. The movie will officially air on valentine's day and along with its release, there is a matching nail polish collection coming out from OPI. The 50 Shades Of Grey collection consists of five different grey hues with various finishes (there is creme, metallic, shimmer and glitter) and a classic red creme color.

How To Store Nail Polish

Since this blog is called My Polish Stash and (I assume) is read mainly by nail polish lovers like myself, it was about time to tell you about some recommendations for nail polish storage. I have written about how I organize my nail polish collection before and how I moved from the six drawer Alex to the larger nine drawer Alex. However, if you have a smaller nail polish collection, you do not need such a big unit. There are smaller and more budget-friendly options available, which work just as well.

[Picture Spam] USA Haul 3.0

Back in mid-November 2014 I went to the US for the third time. This time, I went to Washington DC for a conference and spent a few days in NYC before heading back home. Of course I did some pre-Christmas shopping while I was there and I still owe you my haul. There is some nail polish, some make up and some candles. So without further ado, here is some picture spam for your entertainment!

[Swatch & Review] Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy ~ Ace Of Spades

Happy Sunday everyone!
I hope everyone is having a great weekend so far. I spent most of my weekend relaxing, as I have been sick with the flu for the past seven days. Still I managed to be productive, because I rearranged my stash (I was running out of room in my indie and OPI drawer), updated my spreadsheet (now I only need to upload it) and made a carrot-cheesecake swirl cake for a colleague's birthday tomorrow. Not too bad for a sick day :D
Today I want to share with you my impression of the Revlon ColorStay Gel Envy polish in the shade Ace Of Spades. Is someone else thinking of Motörhead right now?!

Nicole by OPI Gumdrops ~ My Cherry Amour

I hope you are not tired of seeing textured polishes, because today I have another one for you. During my trip to the US last November I found the Nicole by OPI Gumdrops collection at a CVS in Washington DC for 50% off. Textured NOPI nail polish for only $4? Yes, please! And My Cherry Amour is a real beauty, so I am more than happy with my purchase.

Zoya Ultra Pixie Dust ~ Noir

Happy Sunday peeps,
I hope you're all having a great weekend so far! I have been out and about most of this weekend, hence only a quick post of Zoya Noir today. Sadly, I did not have the time for nail art lately, but I really hope I can find the time to try some of my new MoYou plates or my new indie polishes, which I bought during the New Year Sale over at Norway Nails.

The science behind Liquid Palisade & a DIY

Hello there,
if you are into nails and have an Instagram account, I am sure you have come across a new product called Liquid Palisade from the brand Kiesque. This miracle product  is "a liquid, paint-on barrier that covers and protects fingernail cuticles from polish mishaps". It comes in a thin tube with a tiny brush and you paint it onto your nails or cuticles - basically everywhere where you do not want nail polish. Once it is dry, you can paint your nails and simply peel off the product together with the unwanted nail polish. It seems to work especially well for stamping (as some of the pigmented stamping polishes can be a pain to remove from the skin) and water marbling.
Of course I got curious, so I went to the brand's website, only to discover that 10ml of this liquid barrier cost a whopping $22. So I did a little research to see what Liquid Palisade actually is and if something similar for less money was available. Spoiler alert: I found a super cheap dupe that works just as well!

[Swatch] P2 ~ Brown Splendor

I am terribly late with this post and by the time you read this, said nail polish will probably be gone. I hate to show you a nail polish that is hardly available, sorry for that, but I just have to share the beauty of P2 - Brown Splendor with you. This polish was part of the Gold & Crown LE for Fall 2014, which was available at German DM drugstores. If you can still find it in the clearance bin, grab it!

Best Of 2014 ~ Favorite Nail Polishes

Happy New Year!
I hope you all had a great time celebrating New Year's Eve and had a great start into 2015!
Before we dive into my favorite nail polishes of 2014, I want to take the time to say thank you. Thank you for sticking around, reading my rambly posts, looking at my successful and not so successful attempts in nail art and for leaving nice comments on this little blog of mine! I have been blogging for a little over three years now and I couldn't have done it without you! I would still be blogging, even if no one was reading it, but it certainly is more fun when there is feedback from readers. So if there is something you would like to see more of on here, if you have suggestions on how to improve this blog, do not hesitate to let me know via the comments, twitter, Google+ etc.
And now, let us have a look at my most loved polishes of 2014. I put them in alphabetical order and there are indie as well as main stream brands in there.
