bliss kiss simply pure review

A while ago on my Instagram account I shared with you the result of my initial 5 day challenge using Bliss Kiss nail oil. I have been using both the Bliss Kiss and the Sweet Baby by Donna nail care oil daily since then and today I finally want to share a thorough review of the products.

[Review] OPI Infinite Shine - Set in Stone

taupe nail polish

Ever since I saw first swatches of the Infinite Shine system, OPI's version of a long-lasting gel finish manicure, I was intrigued and knew I wanted to try these. For the longest time I could not find them around here and I still haven't spotted them in German stores. A while ago, when Sephora France released a store-wide 25% off coupon, I bit the bullet and ordered the top and base coat set and the shade Set in Stone. My vacation in Barcelona was the perfect opportunity to finally test-drive OPI's Infinite Shine system.

What's in my travel nail care bag

best hand care products

By the time this post goes online I will be on vacation in (hopefully) sunny Barcelona, Spain. This is my first proper holiday in 9 months and I can really use some sunshine, tapas and beach feeling to recharge my batteries after the gloomy fall/winter months.
Oftentimes I neglect my nails while I am out and about, because I want to enjoy the weather and the scenery rather than painting and oiling my nails, but in fact they need even more care than when I am at home. Sunscreen, sea water and sand dry out my skin and nails quickly, resulting in dry, chapped cuticles and hangnails. To prevent that from happening I like to bring my nail care necessities with me, whether I go on a weekend trip or a longer vacation. So here is what is in my travel nail care bag along with some product recommendations for you. Enjoy!

Summery Coral Nail Design

dry marble nail art

Happy Friday everyone,
just in time for the weekend the warm weather has started to come again. Actually, warm is an understatement. We went from clouds with 15°C to full on sun and 33°C in two days. Yikes. Time to pull out those sunglasses and SPF 50. Matching the sunny weather I did a bright manicure using coral shades and a beachy sea shell pattern.

Essence The Gel Nail Polish Review

essence serendipity

Long lasting, gel shine manicure systems are one of the huge nail polish trends for 2015. Most major nail polish brands have come out with their own "gel polish" sets. I have already tried the Sally Hansen Miracle Gel version (I still owe you a thorough review, but I am not a fan), the Revlon Colorstay Gel Envy, Models Own HyperGel and I recently purchased the OPI Infinite Shine set. Some of these have the base coat built into the color nail polish (Sally Hansen and China Glaze Everglaze), others offer a special base coat to use with the polish (OPI and Essence), but all the sets have a special top coat. Unlike traditional gel manicures you get at the salon, the components do not need a UV light to cure.
The two German drugstore brands Catrice and Essence have come out with their version of a gel like manicure system in the beginning of the year. Since none of the kits I have tried so far impressed me, I was curious to see how the super affordable version from Essence would live up to its claims.
