Negative Space Gradient Chevron Nails

gradient stamping

Happy Friday everyone,
I hope you had a great week. The weather has been pretty aweful these days, so I had lots of time to sit inside and play with nail polish. Just a couple of days ago I received my order from b.lovesplates and I had to try their stamping polishes and plates immediately.

Do you like a little fast food every now and then, but worry about the calories? Frat not, this little treat does not contain any fat or sugar, but will make you just as happy - if you like nail polish that is.

Essie Private Weekend & checkerboard gradient stamping

white essie nail polish
Hi everyone, I hope you're having a great weekend. I wanted to do some shopping today, but the weather is too bad to even go outside. The thunderstorms started last night and it's been pouring all day. It is going to be a "stay on the couch in my pjs and blog" kind of day instead - which I do not mind at all.
In my last post I showed you Saltwater Happy and Chillato from the Essie Peach Side Babe summer collection. The third color I picked up is the white Private Weekend, which looks really pretty in the bottle with its sparse silver glass flecks.

Essie - Saltwater Happy & Chillato nail art

Hello everyone,
yes, my nails are back to square nubbins. Last week I broke two nails, one on my left and one on my right hand. I did not feel like putting on fake nails and wait until the short nails have grown out, so I chopped all my nails down. Let me tell you, the stiletto shape is high maintenance and throws you back a lot when you break a nail. That being said, I really liked that nail shape on me, so I will do my best to grow them back! Until then we have to roll with square medium length nails.

[Wear Test] Sally Hansen Miracle Gel - Birthday Suit & starry gradient design

birthday suit sally hansen review

I have already shown you some swatches of the new (at least new to the German market) Sally Hansen Miracle Gel nail polish shades, but I still owe you a thorough review. I have already tried this line when it first came out last year. I wore the shade Dig Fig, but wasn't overly expressed. The color went on patchy, the top coat dissolved the base color so I ended up with even more patches and the whole manicure looked nothing like gel - it lacked volume and shine. Additionally, the whole thing chipped badly after four days and I had to take it off.

On their Instagram page Sally Hansen announced that the Miracle Gel top coat has been reformulated and now gives you "up to 14 days of color and shine [and] now gives you 2x the volume". I was curious to see how this new version performed and gave this line another try.

I cannot believe I have been blogging for four years, but on July 10, 2011 my very first post went up on My Polish Stash. I wish I knew how to pose and take good pictures of my nails back then. On the other hand, it is nice to see where I started and where I am now (there still is room for improvent though). A huge part of blogging is you, my fellow readers and I would like to take this opportunity to give back to you and say thank you! Interactions with readers are what keeps me going and I have met so many lovely like minded people over the years and I am looking forward to getting to know more nail crazed people in the future. Here's to many more years of swatches, nail art, how to-s and nail care. Cheers!

Sally Hansen Miracle Gel - Mad Woman

swatch mad woman sally hansen

Happy Sunday everyone, I hope you are having a fabulous weekend. For my US readers, I hope you had a great time celebrating July 4th with barbeques and fireworks. We have had one of the hottest weekends in decades here in Germany with temperatures around the 40°C/102°F mark. This morning we had some rain, but it is still 30°C/86°F and quite humid. I love summer, but I am not made for this hot weather. Despite the heat, I swatched one of the new (at least new to the German market) Sally Hansen Miracle Gel shades called Mad Woman for you.

Dry brush gradient with Colores de Carol - Beach Boys collection

neon nails

Hey there,
today I can finally show you a manicure with some colors from the Beach Boys collection from Colores de Carol. I love me some neons during summer and when I first saw swatches of the collection I fell in love. You might says "Nah, they're just cream neon polishes, what's the deal?!", but I really like these. They are bright and fun and just cheer me up. Isn't that enough to justify buying a polish? ;)  I originally ordered the collection in early April, but they seem to have gotten lost in the mail. Carolina was so kind to send out another package, which arrived today. I had to try them immediately in a dry brush gradient I wanted to create for July's weekly nail art challenge on Instagram (#wnac2015).
